"Bergen-Lafayette Montessori school is absolutely incredible. We sent my daughter there when she was 15 months old and she was enrolled until we moved out of Jersey City when she was 3. Our son also started there at six months in the infant room before we moved. The teachers are loving, caring, and attentive. This is a legit Montessori education that is truly transformative - what my daughter was able to learn and accomplish at such a young age, and the independence she gained from attending this school has authentically shaped who she is today. The infant room teachers cared for my son deeply and supported his transition from being home from maternity leave to going to school. They were also excellent partners while we worked on potty training for my daughter. This place also builds community in a beautiful way, with many opportunities to get together at the school site and have fun together. My daughter has made lifelong friendships and the parents that I've been able to connect with are warm and welcoming. We would have stayed if we hadn't bought a house in another town, but I still bring the kids up to attend school related events (as they are open to alums of the school), and my daughter still says that BLMS was her favorite school (she's four now)."

"My two children have attended Growing Light Montessori for the past 3 years. We have loved having them as part of our neighborhood. I am always impressed with the compassion my children have received at their care. We will miss you all!"

"Songbird has been a wonderful school for our two girls. The teachers and administration alike have been outstanding during an especially challenging time with COVID. The staff took the time to implement and explain all of the many safety measures they put in place to protect our community. We really got the sense that the kids were the top priority. As for the daily lesson plans, our daughters look forward to school every day! There's always a trip to the park, fun activities in class (with pictures and videos!), and new topics that they've learned for us to talk about over dinner when they come home. We really appreciate the focus on education, and their curriculum allows them to lean into whatever subject matters seem to be of most interest to the class. We're grateful to have Songbird in the neighborhood and are so happy we've sent our kids there for the last 2 years!"

"The reviews on here were super outdated, so I thought i would provide some recent color. First off: this school is amazing. Its cute, small, dedicated, loving, caring and engaged. They are focused on continuously improving, embody the Montessori philosophy in fun and cute ways and are just overall a really pleasant experience. Our son loves outdoors, loves to be challenged and this place meets his needs in every way. From the cooking classes, low turnover, walks in the beautiful park, to the engaging activities and incredible teachers...everything has been amazing. Susan is an excellent Director and engaged hands on (she thrives being in the classroom). Wendy (Toddler 1 lead) is one of the most kind and caring people we have ever met. They hire great assistants, minimize turnover, and are extremely communicative. We have looked at EVERY daycare and PreK in this area and I will tell you a place like this should not be taken for granted. When our son leaves this summer to move to pre-K we will be devastated, this place is special...just trust me."

"We love MorningStar! My son is always so happy to go into school. He loves his teacher. They care about the children and their education/learning. My oldest went here before she started school. They made sure she was prepared going into kindergarten."

"Falsely input logs. They are under investigation for several violations. We have heard from teachers who recently left that kids have been abused and neglected. There have been many emergency transfers to other daycares in the past couple months. Bad communication and under staffed. They can’t keep teachers. Please for your child, go else where. Do your research on this place you can go to the states website and see the violations and many failed inspections. And to the parents who still have kids here please be very careful. If your child says something that isn’t right please listen to them."

"I’ve worked with Mrs. Nicole off and on since she’s opened TSA, she’s very kind, respectful and loves her staff and each child that comes into her center. Which is why I’ve always returned to work for her! Her center is filled with love, care, respect and SAFETY. It’s a great learning environment for each and every kid that comes into the center! We appreciate every parent and their child(ren)."

"My children had a terrific experience -- 3 years each -- at Green Mountain Montessori School. Outdoor learning and play was a priority. The Montessori philosophy is worth reading up on. My children's curiosity was peaked and encouraged. Along the way, my son and daughter found out how rewarding it is to help each other to learn. Cooperation and exploration were fostered inside and out of that historic brick building in the heart of Essex. My children would not be the adults(!) they are today without Shireen's guiding hand and her staff's enthusiasm for the natural world, other cultures, cooking, etc. GMMS is a gem!"
