"Poor process to get the admission. Submitted application on March 2021 for my daughter for Jan 2022 and got the surprise that the application missed for which my daughter can't attend the school till they have vacant spot. How can be the application missed when it was submitted online with the application fee. Whenever I call, it goes to voicemail and never get the response."

"I love this school! My son is 19 years old now, but we remember fondly his 3 years with Ms. Mona and Ms. Rosalinda. Because of Children's Montessori, I was inspired to study the Montessori Method. I highly recommend this school!"

"We went to their grand opening several weeks ago and our daughters were IN LOVE. I literally had to drag them out of there. My youngest actually went poop for the very first time on her own there, I think because of the incredible set up meant for younger kiddos. The owners are incredible. They have tons of experience and you can tell they truly care about your kids. Their mission to make Lilac a warm and inclusive experience for the kids AND staff is refreshing. As a small business owner, I truly appreciate how they go above and beyond already. They are a great addition to our community!"

"Lovely school. We love the Montessori method and philosophy, my son loved it here. He definitely gained so much from attending (in social skills and academic). We only left due to moving. We loved all the outdoor time, varied activities, education, and that there is no TV. I like that the teachers are engaged and not busy making worksheets/progress reports for the parents. They keep the ratios low and are all so loving to the kids. They also are always willing to talk and work out issues. They were even accommodating of us using cloth diapers. My son attended from age 18 months to 3 years (occasionally they take them younger then 2, but I think this has more to do with filling spots when they need to--developmentally, Montessori is probably better for 2+, as it usually is)."

"This school is amazing and the teaching staff is so attentive and nurturing. If you are considering this school for your child, you should absolutely do it. When my family started looking into first time daycare/school options for our 3 year old daughter, a caring and safe environment was at the top of our priority list. In the 5 months since enrolling, Ms. Elledge and Ms. Nielsen have blown us away by going above and beyond those expectations. Every activity in the classroom has a purpose to help them develop a specific skill and it’s obvious the kids have fun while doing it. The teachers treat the children with respect, patience, and kindness and I can tell having that modeled at school has made an impact on my child. Ms. Elledge also recognizes how hard it is for parents to be away from their children all day and she’ll send updates on my daughter’s progress with lessons and pictures. This has been so helpful, especially during that first month when we were all still getting used to our daughter being out of the house. With everything going on in the world, I feel so grateful for the work that Ms. Elledge and her team do."

"Yellow Acorn is a place where children are not only taught but truly nurtured. Ms. Laura, Ms Patti and Ms Dionisia are incredibly dedicated, patient, and genuinely passionate about Montessori principles. They created a warm, supportive atmosphere where our child felt valued and encouraged to explore her interests at her own pace. The hands-on learning approach and emphasis on independence instilled a sense of confidence and curiosity that will benefit her throughout her life. Ms. Rupa and Leena have done an excellent job cultivating the school’s environment as welcoming and inclusive, fostering a strong sense of community among the children, parents, and staff. I highly recommend it to any parent seeking a nurturing and enriching environment for their child’s early education. This was the Montessori school experience I was searching for. I’m so glad we found it."

"I went in for a tour and the facility was very clean and well organized. It smells like food when you walk through the door. Upon arrival the main door is LOCKED. They would have to buzz you in (great start) we were giving a tour by what I now know of as the Assistant which I thought was the director but she never introduced herself until the end and the director never introduced herself at all and she was up front as well. (Bad start & finish) I like the small classrooms, student to teacher ratio and the fact that the parents can have access to see their children through cameras at any moment your child is there ( huge plus). The assistant was friendly but she wasn’t “giving” what I was looking for, so that I felt comfortable leaving my child there so we will try a different Montessori. Also there was a diverse group of kids( which I love)"

"This school does NOT follow the Montessori way. They are very forceful about students learning by their way only and not encouraging kids to find multiple ways to solve a problem. They did not treat my daughter, who is neurodivergent, well. Montessori schools are supposed to let children learn at their own pace, which this school does not. Their continuous use of force caused many meltdowns for my child and she would come home completely disheveled and refusing to go to school most days because of how she was treated. We, her parents, were called in for meetings where I tried to explain her condition to them and tried to do as they suggested to do to try and get our child to their standards. When none of that worked they suggested physical punishment, on a neurodivergent child. Once they realized that my daughter was a special case and not something that they wanted to nourish, they kicked her out 2 months before the end of the school year and tried to make it out like it was our fault. And to add insult to injury, they sent her home with a field trip permission slip to the zoo that she couldn't even go to because they were kicking her out because she was neurodivergent. This year we sent her to Western Avenue and have not had a single issue with either teachers or students. In fact, my daughter is top of her class behaviorally. Western Avenue will not just give up on my child like this one did. -10/10 , will not send my other child to this school, ever."
