"We are so grateful our son could attend First Light Preschool the past couple years. Ms Laura does an amazing job of fostering positive social skills/interactions, kindergarten preparedness, and creative play. Our son grew exponentially in his love for nature, learning, and God. Thank you!"

"Beware, you get exactly what you pay for. Me and my husband were looking at Montessori schools in our area for our neurodivergent son and had been touring different locations. Initially upon arriving, I wasn't impressed, you can tell it is a new academy. Examples: The kids, were playing outside with no playset ( empty backyard), the classroom looked empty of materials in comparison to other locations, and the building itself leaves much to be desired. -We were told the teachers were " working on" their Montessori certification. ( So, you're paying for a MONTESSORI program that's not actually being provided, google states certification can take 1-2 years ) What attracted us to continue with enrolled was the low student to teacher ratio. There were only 3 students and 2 teachers. This would have given my child the experience we hoped for were he can transition into kindergarten. Also, the enrollment fees are ridiculously cheap compared to more established montessori schools. We immediately established my son was high functioning autistic, and asked if that was an issue. It wasn't deemed to be at the time. We also stated we have therapists for him and if they could drop in and do his therapy at school. We were working on finalizing a Occupational therapist and said it would not be all day but, for helping with skillsets and fine motor skills. We, even stated this again at orientation to the owner Brooke, just to make sure we were good. However, the following week A DAY BEFORE my child was to start school we get a voicemail from the the Assistant Director ( Brooke's mother) that our child would not be able to attend without a therapist there ALL DAY. So after we've paid application fee, enrollment fee, and tuition for him to attend we get a last minute call saying that it’s not possible. Then we were offered a credit instead of a refund for services not rendered. Come to find out one of the teachers quit and the assistant teacher got "promoted" which may have had something to due with the last minute issues. Hate to say it but this is what happens when you try to support a new black business. My husband and i had changed our work schedule and made the necessary adjustments to manage drop off- pick up , etc. Our inconvenience, heartbreak of telling a toddler he will not be going to that school, and monetary loss mean nothing to this establishment. We were seen as another a dollar sign/ monthly tuition and then when they realized they weren't capable or wiling to handle our child they had no regard for our situation. Also I've noticed they have Teacher Staff leaving reviews online to contribute to a high rating. ( Jakira S.) our sons potential teacher."

"Both of my children have attended Learn & Play. We felt like family & my oldest still asks about his teachers often. I've had encounters with all of the facility teachers and have zero concerns that my children are loved, cared for, and safe while attending."
