"Edit: Just found out that the owner contacted our children’s GP to tell them that I was lying about my child having wetting accidents despite the school’s own log book showing he was having them regularly. And despite attending 2 years at this school my son did not know his ABCs. This school provides no protection against neglect since the owner did not consider a child missing 35% of his education there as a concern. I find the school's owner and teacher have very antiquated views of potty training, parental rights and mental health. My son started exhibiting signs of being shamed about potting accidents as soon as he started school. He started lying and hiding when he had accidents cause I could see how bad he felt about having them despite the accidents not being wholly under his control. It took me a couple of weeks to encourage him to accept the accidents as what they are accidents and try again. I contacted Mrs. Doyle, and I was told that my opinion or a GP's opinion was not valid, and she would stick to her opinion that my son was just being cheeky. I even attempted to show her the new guidelines regarding potty training. She refused to budge in her opinion and went as far as to state my son was not having difficulties despite her potting log indicating that there was a problem. Her actions, in my opinion, prevented my child from getting the help he needed sooner. He still hasn't gotten any help due to her delaying it. I find that the owner picks a side if you are separated from the other parent. In my opinion, you can expect to be excluded from events and information if you are not the favoured parent. It has been my experience that even if you send polite requests to see your child's record or work, you will not be granted access or involved in your child's education while there. You will not receive any notifications despite requesting them. It's 2022; no parent should have to make a GDPR request to see their son's work for the year. I should be able to see what my son has done and his attendance, especially since I cannot get this from the other parent. My son kept asking if I got the pictures yet as he was proud and wanted to show me. I did not receive them till months after. My experience is that if you suffer from depression, you will be greeted with overly exaggerated questions about how you are doing and talked at like you are a child. It has been my experience that if you question her opinion or her actions, you will be told she is a professional despite your professional medical expertise, or you will be cut off from your child's information. I had to have my solicitor contact the owner to obtain my child's information. She then deliberately sent only a partial attendance record. I do not have the same problems with the schools of my other child. As a mother, it is very hurtful to be cut out of my child's life and not allowed to participate in their education and an important part of their life. I was not notified or invited to attend my son’s graduation. My son felt really sad because I was not notified so I could attend his graduation. I have tried all other avenues to work this out with the owner to no effect. So I am posting this warning to all other parents. Thankfully the GDPR request worked and I finally obtained my son's information. Unfortunately, her response included a threat of court because of my review."
