"We've been at Mountain Shadows for 7 yrs. We've been in most of the classrooms and at all age levels. Our 3 children have enjoyed their teachers and time at Mountain Shadows. Each of the teachers we've worked with were excellent. My children are quite independent because of their Montessori background and feel confident in trying (and failing!) new things. We've found that it's a lovely community for our children and family. There have been changes over the years (many related to Covid) but I would say that MSMS is in a rebuilding phase. The parent community is strong and enthusiastic this year and supported by the teachers, staff and administration. I'm excited to see the programs grow and now upper elementary (grade 4-6) return. The new upper elementary teacher/guide seems so impressive and caring. I think she will add to the energy of the school tremendously. I'm thankful for this safe and caring environment in which my children have thrived!"

"My child attended Lane a few years ago. I'm hoping this review helps someone whose child does not fit into Lane's approach of child learning. I do believe Lane cares for children and provides a clean and reliable learning environment. Many children will thrive with their teaching techniques. What I do want to tell you is that not all children fit their mold for learning and Lane might not be the right fit, but that does not mean there is anything wrong with your child. At around 3.5 years old the teachers starting telling me my child was not participating correctly and they had a consultant come in and tell me there was something wrong with him - one note said he was too silly. The main problem, my child just needed to change schools - any school except Lane. After changing schools he has never had any issues from daycare centers or other caretakes. Now in elementary school my child is a strong student and very outgoing and has had no academic learning issues. I'm sorry it didn't work out with Lane but it was deeply destressing to go through their process and I hope that no one else has to feel the distress that something is wrong with their child, when it is really the strict learning style of the school that is not going to work with their kid. They have a long wait list and the ability to 'let go of kids' that do not fit the mold. Don't feel bad if you give Lane a try and it does not work out."
