Mindful Montessori

I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful experiences my children have had at Mindful Montessori. My son started at the age of 3 when the class was just a small group of 9 children, and this intimate setting allowed for personalized attention and a deep sense of community. As the first class under the new director, it was clear from the beginning that this school was dedicated to fostering a nurturing and supportive environment. When my daughter turned 2 and a half, I didn’t hesitate to enroll her as well, having seen the positive impact the school had on my son. My son stayed with the school through kindergarten, and it was amazing to see how his love for learning flourished over the years. The Montessori approach of self-directed learning, where children are encouraged to explore at their own pace and follow their natural curiosities, was a huge benefit for him. The focus on hands-on activities, real-world problem solving, and fostering independence helped him develop confidence and a true sense of ownership over his learning. What makes Montessori special is the way it balances academic growth with emotional development. My children not only gained strong foundational skills in literacy, math, and critical thinking, but they also learned the importance of responsibility, respect for others, and problem-solving. The mixed-age classrooms provided opportunities for older children to mentor younger ones, which helped build leadership skills and a sense of community. I also appreciate the low student-to-teacher ratio, which allowed teachers to work closely with each child, observing their interests and guiding their learning. The classroom environment was always warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and exploration. I couldn’t have asked for a better start for both of my children’s educational journeys. If you're looking for a true Montessori experience, look no further—this is it.

My son had such a great experience at this wonderful school. Besides the amazing teachers the classrooms are so well structured with all the educational materials that any child will be curious and encouraged to learn. My son was able to develop his independence skills and progress in so many different areas. We were also able to meet so many new and wonderful people and make friendships. I am forever grateful for this school and to Lina Masri who was able to create such a thriving environment for so many families.

Send your kids here! AMAZING school that supports the growth and meets the individual needs of each child. My boys have just thrived here and I continue to be blown away by the incredible educational foundation that is developed here and how each child is so well nurtured and cared for. I feel so lucky to have found Mindful Montissori and the incredible teachers that work so hard to support the needs of each child as if they were their own. Best decision I’ve ever made.

Wonderful staff and education Highly recommend

My daughter has been going to Mindful Montessori since she was 2.5 yrs old. It is a true Montessori school with qualified teachers, we love their nurturing care for the children and dedication. My daughter learned to read at 3.5 and do small addition due to their Montessori approach. The children are exposed to math, languages, geography, biology etc. Every spring, they get to see the life cycle of ducks or chicks. From the egg in the incubator, to the chick coming out of the egg and then caring for the chick. Same for the life cycle of the butterfly, so its not only in books and toys/material, but real life. This is the way you get young minds to learn and be engaged. Every time I go inside the school to read or volunteer for an event, I am in awe of how calm, clean and happy the classroom is. My daughter loves going to school and told me that she loves Mindful Montessori because the teachers hug them and tell them they love them, to me this is the best review any school can get. We love the school and are looking forward to our daughter's 3rd year there.

I toured this school and was so impressed with how professional the director was and how calm and soothing the environment was. The director is very experienced and knowledgeable about Montessori and passionate about the school.

Mindful Montessori of Old Tappan has been a great choice for our child’s growth and development, and a much better alternative to traditional day care centers. From as early as 3 years old, our child was immersed into an engaging, individually crafted curriculum. Extremely well trained and experienced teaching staff are helping children learn and develop at a much higher level and faster pace than any of their non Montessori friends and peers. Before the age of four, the children are trying and succeeding in reading and writing, exposed to different languages and rudimentary math exhibiting measurable results that both motivate and drive them though an individualized teaching approach that fosters the love of learning. Mindful Montessori is doing an amazing job in preparing our child for the next chapter of his educational journey along with developing and growing his life skills with their practical life curriculum options. We highly recommend Mindful Montessori for so many reasons including wonderful educational benefits, love of learning and growing together and also what we hope are also forming of life long friendships!
