Apple Montessori Schools & Camps - Oakland

My daughter started in the Oakland location in September and transitioned so nicely thanks to Mrs. Frawley and her classroom staff. As soon as you enter the building, you feel warmth, happiness and a sense of security in leaving your child. Apple Montessori provides such a wonderful balance of academics and life skills- we are watching it all come to life in our daughter already! Thank you again to her classroom teachers and the fabulous administrative staff!!!

My son began at AMS-Oakland when he turned two years old. Immediately upon joining Mrs. Torres' classroom he was met with a warm and compassionate environment that truly became his "home away from home." Each day I receive updates and pictures on his progress... he even began helping set the dinner table at home (which is super cute to see!) Mrs. Torres' passion really shines through her work... we feel there is no better decision we could have made for our son!

My 2 year old son started attending Apple Montessori in Oakland this January and the director and assistant directors, Mrs. Sinisi and Ms. Lange have been very helpful in the transition! It is a pleasure to watch my son’s communication and social skills grow as he makes friends with his entire class. He is now excited to go to school every day and tells me weekends are for being with mommy and then Monday he can go back to Mrs. Torres’ class! It is a huge comfort to me knowing my son is so well taken care of and his skills and strengths are being fostered. I also love how the school provides updates daily on his nap schedule, and sends pictures of activities so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on everything! Mrs. Torres has been a blessing to our family and I’m so eager for the summer camp and swimming lessons for my little man!

My daughter is assisting this summer for camp, and I have to say we are thrilled! They have an amazing and very complete program for the kids, it’s a camp that is not crowded, they really take care of your kids, it is a very loving environment, the pool lessons are amazing. I totally recommend this camp for kids up to 6 years old it is pretty amazing to see how my daughter (4YO) is learning Robotics and Programing they do cooking dancing sports swiming! Super recommended.

Just terrible! Giving Montessori style of teaching a bad name - if your child does not fit the mold, they are a bad kid. No consideration for different styles of learning or communication, simply "do it as I said" approach and no room for creativity. The teachers are all very young and just lack experience. You get canned answers to your questions or concerns - same tone and verbiage - no matter who you approach. I am very disappointed.

My son started to AMS at Oakland last year and we’re happy to see how he is learning fast and growing kindly there. He is in Ms. Ramos’s class and we especially thank her, she is the best! Everyone who works there so friendly,helpful and knowledgeable.

Unprofessional ,uneducated staff- not worth the money .

Had to take a moment to let everyone know how amazing Apple Montessori is! My wife and I were in search of a preschool for our 3 year old son Mason. After hearing about Apple from a colleague who sends their children there and seeing the school we fell in love as did Mason. After being there for 7 months we are literally blown away by how much of an impact the school has had on his social and emotional well being and development. I can't give enough credit to every educator and support staff that has a handing in shaping the day. It truly is a team effort. While Mason spends most of his time under the guidance of Ms. Ferentinos he is treated just as well by everyone else. His tremendous growth is a direct reflection of the influence everyone in that school has on him. Ms. Martin, Mrs. Sullivan and Ferentinos have both been instrumental into getting him excited about learning. There is no greater joy than to see your child love school and look forward to each challenge. They are also extremely nurturing individuals who genuinely care about him. From the moment we walk in, Mrs. Sullivan creates such a lovely learning environment. I feel like each classroom is in a state of zen. Ms. Ferentinos is acutely aware of Mason's progress and I swear its like having another parent helping to raise and cultivate our child. The past few days we have seen Mason begin to read. How many four year olds can do that at their preschools? I firmly believe it is the result of expert educational practices and strategies instilled by Ms. Ferentinos and the staff at Apple Montessori (not to mention the attention to detail and amazing care). Everyone there is amazing and Jess and I wanted to share our appreciation and gratitude for everything they have been able to accomplish with our son.
