Brooklyn Children's House is a *very* special place. Both of my sons were fortunate enough to attend BCH, and though they are different in personality, they both thrived. The teachers at BCH are sensitive, brilliant, and kind educators who create a truly magical environment. They know how to handle every issue that arises with young children, from toileting and separation anxiety to sensory needs and other social challenges. Following the Montessori method, they support each child according to his or her needs, while also creating a joyful community. They really see each child in his or her full potential, and respond to them accordingly. The school also provides meals (!!), and the children participate in meal preparation, even eating the vegetables they grow and harvest in the beautiful backyard. We could not have been happier with our kids' experiences at BCH, and have nothing but gratitude and admiration for its teachers. There is also a warm and welcoming community of parents and caregivers around the school. Every family should have a preschool experience as positive as the one BCH provides.

We had such an amazing experience at Brooklyn Children's House and can't recommend it highly enough. Our daughter started there just after her second birthday in May 2023 and I was nervous about her joining the group in the middle of the year and being the littlest one, but Lisa and Gyrchel made the transition easy with their kindness and attention. They provide a wonderful balance of Montessori structure along with warmth and fun. Our daughter came home singing songs, telling stories about her play in the backyard (they have a beautiful garden outside that the kids are in every day, rain or shine). She loved eating lunch with her friends that she helped make (and in some cases grow). All the activities foster a sense of independence and competence that I see her benefit from every day, and I know will serve her well for years to come. Even my eight year old loved the classroom! After coming with me to pick up his sister he told me that when he has a kid, he will send them to Brooklyn Children's House. They were an absolute blessing and I feel grateful for them everyday.

I truly can not say enough wonderful things about Brooklyn Children’s House. Our son started there right after his 2nd birthday in January. It was wonderful that he was able to start in the middle of the school year since many other twos programs and preschools in the area require the child be 2 by the September start date. This was his first experience being away from us (and our nanny) and BCH’s incredible teachers Lisa and Gyrchel worked with us to help get him through this big transition. While the school philosophy fosters independence, the kids still play together nicely and become fast friends. Our son would come home singing new songs and telling us about “inside jokes” he had with the other children. They do a great job of getting the kids outside, as they are in the backyard all year round, rain or shine. Our son is now very interested in compost, worms, and roli polies thanks to all the time spent in the yard. They provide snacks and lunches that even our picky eater was happy to have. Gyrchel and Lisa are seasoned early education and childhood development experts with unmatched warmth. We couldn’t have asked for a better first school experience for our child.

I was horrified at the state of the front entrance, there was trash piled everywhere. It was all over the place and some of the bags must had holes on them for the trash was leaking out of the bags. The front entrance reeked and there were flies all over the place. It was beyond disgusting.

My twin daughters started at Brooklyn Children's House in Fall of 2022 and were there for a year and a half. When our family moved out of Brooklyn everyone (my husband, my girls, myself) wished BCH could have moved with us. This program is one of a kind. The environment that Gyrchel and Lisa create is so loving, fun and wonderful for young children. A Montessori based program that has the intimacy of being in your own home. You not only have amazing teachers and a great ratio you join a community of parents that are friendly and involved. Our twins thrived in this environment, learning life skills that they would come home and teach me. Whether it was learning to cook, paint, do puzzles, clean, put on clothes or potty training the skills fostered at BCH enabled independence and confidence. The teachers are also extremely in touch and available as a resource to parents. As an often overwhelmed pandemic twin Mom, having two dedicated, wonderful and invested educators helped me to ensure our twins reached milestones (often leading the way). Brooklyn Children's House made it so I had the wind at my back. I cannot recommend Brooklyn Children's House enough. I feel very lucky this was my twins first school experience!

We love BCH - it is a blessing to have a neighborhood preschool with such incredible teachers and a lively, structured space for the children. The backyard they have is a delightful bonus - our child loves the outdoor time they get every day. We were looking for a daycare that follows the Montessori philosophy with attentive, caring teachers and a smaller teacher to student ratio. We feel so lucky to have found this school - it is such a special place!

We absolutely love Brooklyn Children's House! Warm, talented, thoughtful educators and a supportive and stimulating environment for my child. We are deeply grateful for this wonderful community. My 3 year old has grown so much here-- each day she is developing friendships, skills and confidence. A very special place to begin her lifelong education. Thank you, BCH!

Lisa and staff do an amazing job at BCH--the school is warm, welcoming, and yet espouses the Montessori philosophy, which fosters independence and a calm, yet structured space. The teacher:student ratio is really small, and every teacher cares so much about each kid. It's really a special place.

My son has been attending Brooklyn Children's House since it opened. I cannot be any happier with the experience he has had. Lisa and the other teachers are phenomenal. They introduced me Montessori practices/education and it's great benefits. My son has grown and I have even incorporated Montessori practices in my home. When he first started he had crazy separation anxiety (which Lisa lovingly helped with the transition) and now when I pick him up to go home he nearly has a tantrum because he never, ever wants to leave. This place is great!
