The Woodlands Montessori

We love this school. Our daughter went there for the primary school and had a great experience. Miss Lety is a great teacher

Me and my wife cannot say enough good things about The Woodlands Montessori. My daughter attended this school for more than two years and our experience with the whole staff (Director, admin team, teachers) has always been very positive. It might sound cliche, but it is true for this school: the staff here really care about the kids and the families, and you can see that when you drop your kids, when you get updates, when there are updates or the usual tiny issues. Even while the 2021 freeze they had damage in the kitchen, they arranged to have the kids temporarily into another school for two weeks while fixing the facilities. In particular Ms. Chan is an amazing teacher, she goes above and beyond teaching her students and preparing them for real life, not only pure academics but other important topics such as respect, kindness, and setting boundaries with other kids when needed. She worked with us and provided continuous feedback. We feel our daughter has made a great progress and we always left her with great peace of mind, knowing she was being taken well care of and educated. And, ultimately, that is the most important thing you can ask from a school. We’d give 15 stars if we could.

Our two kiddos attended The Woodlands Montessori from March 2021 until we moved out of the area this month (July 2022). During a challenging pandemic period when all facilities struggled to retain employees, I felt my children were safe and well-cared for at The Woodlands Montessori. Beyond basic needs, our kiddos came home singing educational songs, discussing geography, and asking great questions. I loved hearing what they learned about!

My daughter was only enrolled at Woodlands Montessori for a couple of weeks, yet almost everyday there seemed to be an issue. We were often told that "3 year olds don't normally exhibit the behavior" that my child had. That "behavior" was playing with sand or putting things in her mouth, things that are pretty common for three year olds. There was also a member of the staff who was frequently rude and condescending whenever we went to pick our child up. On my daughter's very first day, this same staff member let my child go home with another family member without asking for ID or even who she was. My daughter has not even been enrolled a month and we have already decided to enroll her elsewhere. I'm not sure why we received such poor treatment from the staff, but they were very judgmental almost from day one. As a teacher myself, I was very disappointed that the same patience, kindness and grace I give to my students and their parents, was not given to me or my child.

They are very judgmental . I called asking about services and if they have had experience with any high functioning autistic children. They then told me they have not and directed me to another school. Everything was going fine until the lady thought she hung up and I heard her say “that is not what we need” to her coworker, talking about my son.

The founding education my daughter received within the 2 years she was there is remarkable. Her comprehension and fine motor skills are highly developed. The staff truly cares for the children. I absolutely recommend The Woodlands Montessori for early education.

Cindy, Caitlin, Janet, & the entire staff at Woodlands Montessori are a down to earth, caring & trustworthy group that runs a great school. My child has spent the last year at the Montessori and I believe our child has benefited from the environment provided and more importantly from the people at the Montessori. Our child talks about school constantly and the things they learn, and we have Janet and the staff to thank for this joy our child gets from school. We will continue to recommend family, friends and neighbors to the Montessori.

I sent my 4 year old with Ms Meher. The Montessori is hands down the best managed I have ever seen. You know they love their employees when they have more than 25 years with the school. The school is clean, playground and classroom are very well maintained. Kids come from diverse international backgrounds and represents a good microcosm of Houston/Woodlands. The Montessori curriculum is awesome for a child’s overall development.
