I will start with the couple positive things I have to say: one, there are some really amazing, loving, kind teachers and staff that work at this school. two, the kids are exposed to alot of extras like gym class, spanish, etc. Unfortunately, the incompetence of the administration make this school unbearable. We had an okay experience at first and then things went south pretty abruptly which resulted in a pretty traumatic experience for our family. My son was ostracized by his classmates and despite voicing my concerns about how this was impacting him, I was ignored. Then there were several incidents that were handled completely unprofessionally and inappropriately by the administration. My kids have been out of this school for several months already and they are EXCELLING. Best thing I ever did for my kids was take them out of this school.

This place was not a good experience for my little one...the preschool is run like a military school..actually ever since I left I found out it's common knowledge that this school is strict. I wish I knew that before I enrolled my kid There is very little arts and crafts and little pretend play way too serious for 4 and 5 year olds.

My daughter fell in love with HCMS from the first day she joined 4th to 5th grade. The teachers are skilled and kind. They know how to train each individual to be independent and confident in learning and socializing. I found My daughter soon became a self motivated , happy and friendly student under their hands. As a parent, I am so thankful to her teachers and all the staff who work there. They are all nice people , easy to communicate and ready to help at any time!

My daughter attended Hudson Montessori in Danbury for a total of 4 hours and that is all it took for me to realize this was not the institution for us. For the price, I was expecting to be overly impressed by the facility and its offerings; on the contrary, the toys, equipment, "lessons," and overall atmosphere was lackluster to say the least. Their teaching methods and disciplinary styles are comparable to my days in boot camp. If that is what you are looking for, then kudos to you for finding it. On our second day of integration, where I was allowed to be present for the lesson, we experienced "music class." This consisted of nothing more than a woman with a guitar who insisted the children basically sit still in front of her for all but one song. The one song they were able to get up and actually move to was her version of "Simon Says." However, once the children got a little pep in their step, she immediately seized their fun by stating the "song did not yet say to run." Funny enough, this room was massive and extremely open, free from any potential tripping hazards; this would be the perfect time for them to get some energy out if you ask me. My daughter's would-be teacher in the toddler room was nice enough; however, her assistant clearly had little knowledge about working with kids. She gave me an uneasy feeling with every interaction I witnessed her have with my daughter. Though I was only supposed to be a "fly on the wall," she would look to me before any carrying out any disciplinary decision. This makes me think one of two things: either she is unsure how to actually respond in those given situations, or she is taking it easy on my daughter due to my presence. This is the same woman I saw grab a young girl's hand and place it behind her back when she was only trying to say hi to her sister in the hallway. What message is that sending, exactly? I inquired about this school because I like Maria Montessori's ideas toward fostering independence and gaining a healthy thirst for knowledge. However, I feel this institution, perhaps only the section I witnessed as I cannot speak for everybody, is seriously missing the mark. Children should be able to have fun while learning as that will keep them coming back for more. These children did not look like they were having fun; rather, they were too busy being corrected with every step they took.

If you are lucky enough to know my children, enough said. If not, come see this school for yourself. There's a whole lot more than simply education going on!

I went to Hudson with my daughter and she loved it, so did I. The school is beautiful i was so eager to put my daughter in the school, one of the staff members gave us a tour and i'll tell you is a beautiful place and everybody is so friendly. Only problem was that it is very expensive and i could not afford to have my daughter attend the school i wish they could have some kind of financial help for families of low income, but they don't have it :(
