Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School

We are absolutely delighted with our experience at Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery. Our son has been attending for a few months, and the difference in his development and happiness is remarkable. Jo and the team go above and beyond to provide him with the special support, understanding, and time he needs—something we didn’t experience at his previous nursery. What truly sets this nursery apart is their genuine care—not just for the individual needs of each child but also for the pressures and concerns parents face. The staff, led by Jo, are warm, attentive, and incredibly dedicated, which creates a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive. It’s no surprise that the nursery recently received an outstanding report. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional quality of care and education they provide. We are so grateful to the team for their tireless hard work, compassion, and commitment to the children and families they support. Thank you for everything you do—it means the world to us.

My little girl has settled in really well here… thanks to the team of amazing teachers here. I was looking for somewhere that offered a balance of fun, play and learning and the way Jo and her team have blended all those components together is nothing less than incredible. Another factor was the menu to Enid’s eat… I’m a health coach and the meals are curated by a child nutritionist and Delilah is eating food that I have tried to implement but without little success … she happily eats sweet and sour chicken, Mexican stew, roast turkey and even salmon and mascarpone pasta! Also the behaviour that I expect from my little one is instilled here to, table manners, kindness, speaking vs shouting have all helped Delilah (a blended little girl of Italian /Irish heritage) getting her behaviour on point. I couldn’t be happier and I’m confident that Delilah’s transition to reception will be seamless thanks to all the preparation that she would have taken

I have had 2 children attend Burgh wood Montessori over the past 5 years my youngest graduated in September 2021. Throughout that time we have had nothing but a positive experience. Burgh wood staff are kind caring and highly qualified. The forest school sessions were a favourite for both of mine. Burgh wood staff fully prepared my children to transition into reception with no worries at all and they both still talk about their memories there fondly. It was the best decision we made to send our boys there and would highly recommend Burgh wood Montessori

We have had 2 children attend Burgh Wood Montessori and since Jo has taken over the nursery the setting has been transformed from great to truly exceptional, and the changes which have been implemented have had a positive impact in every area – from improved equipment creation of a forest school and increased parent engagement and information with the implementation of technology. From the caring and kind nature of the teaching staff through to the focus on education and not to mention the focus on keeping the safe during these challenging time – the team have really delivered to the highest standard. As a family we were sad that our time at the setting has drawn to a close (apparently there is a requirement to start primary school much to our child’s disappointment!) but we love that we remain part of the wider alumni family. I would highly recommend this setting to anyone looking to give their children the best head start in their education in a warm, family, caring and supportive environment.

Both of my kids have loved their time at Burgh Wood Montessori. They have developed in so many ways, becoming more confident and balanced individuals with problem solving abilities, logical minds and most importantly they had so much fun. All of the staff are parent-friendly, flexible and genuinely enjoy what they are doing. Communication is great both in person and over email, and the use of an app to update you on your kids milestones and moments from their nursery days is fantastic. My children also attend the Orchard on Banstead High Street and love both settings. Burgh Wood is larger and seems to offer really solid educational benefits whereas the Orchard is a smaller setting giving a very personal level of care. Using both the girls have really flourished. My son has been here only for 2 weeks and I have to say Iv noticed him flourish, this preschool needs more credit for their work, They provided me with an app where they post pictures and write about his progress and areas he needs to work on I have to say Iv been paying bright horizons for him to be there all day before, I cannot say that for the money you pay that the service is anywhere near It cant even compete Burgh Wood Montessori your amazing Joanne is doing an amazing job Thank you
