Forestville Montessori School

Our son was here in 3-6 and thoroughly enjoyed himself to the extent that school holidays were a disappointment! Schools could learn a lot from this place; they know how to settle a child into class, how to teach them to learn for the pleasure of learning and how to help them become decent little human beings. Our child grew in confidence, made his first friends and developed an absolute love of maths! We had envisioned both of our children staying here until secondary school and had we not had to leave Australia they certainly would have done so.

My son and I have attended the parents and child program for babies that are below 2yo. I am very sorry to say that I did not find this experience helpful for my 10 month old. I felt we were left to ourselves and although the facility is great, I just felt it wasn’t worth me going there as I could’ve done the same thing at home. My impression was that we were going to learn about how to play with our kids, how to best stimulate their minds, and all other aspects of growing up... Instead I was just basically spending 2 hours playing with my son with the teacher checking in maybe 5 min in total for the whole time we were there. A bit of a disappointment especially because when I called to ask for clarification, I felt like no one really knew what was going on, and when I requested a refund since the program did not “perform” and I wasn’t getting any explanation, I was told by the school Principal that it sounded like “I was only interested in my money and not in trying to solve the problem”. We left it that the teacher of the course was going to call me but still to this date, I have not heard from them.

Great teachers and staff who are friendly and helpful. The teaching style suits many children in allowing them to take their education into their own hands, building skills necessary for later school and their lives.

A wonderful place for children to learn, grow and shine in an ever changing world. Forestville provides a wholistic education for children and the community alike.
