First Five Early Learning Reservoir

Fist five early learning reservoir centre in my opinion is one of a kind! All the staff are so welcoming from day one. My son has so many special relationships with all of the educators. There safety steps are phenomenal. I could not fault this childcare even if I wanted to. Everything they have done over the past 5 months exceeded my expectations. Thanks guys! We appreciate you all ❤️

The Best in Reservoir Without a Doubt. I have visited most of the popular early schools in the area. Additionally, I come from the city where I sent my daughter to the best early school for almost a year. First Five is undoubtedly one of the best schools in Melbourne, and it is the best in Reservoir suburb, in my opinion. The building is really nice, featuring both indoor and outdoor playgrounds for the kids. This allows children to play regardless of the weather conditions. The staff are professional and genuinely nice. Highly recommended! 5 Stars ⭐️ well-deserved.

We have had the best experience with my toddler at First Five, she absolutely loves the educators and her friends. The staff are all very helpful, friendly and professional. There is a great sense of community at First Five amongst the families and the educators. I am kept updated throughout the day on her activities and I know she is well taken care of by the educators. They have a huge outdoor/indoor play ground that the kids can play in even when it’s raining, as well as an outdoor area they can access on sunny days. My daughter absolutely loves it and I’m confident she is enjoying her day and engaging in meaningful learning at the centre whilst I am at work. Cannot rate First Five highly enough, centre management are all very helpful and always happy to help.

Our experience with First Five Reservoir Childcare has been deeply concerning, especially after a significant incident involving our child. One afternoon, my partner picked her up and noticed that she was limping. When we inquired about what had happened, the staff had no knowledge of any incident, and no report had been filed. Alarmed, we took her to primary care, where it was confirmed that her toe was fractured. When we approached the childcare center for answers, they were unable to provide a clear explanation for how the injury occurred and admitted that no one had noticed her limping throughout the day. To further investigate, we reviewed the video footage from that day. Unfortunately, we discovered that there were several blind spots in the camera coverage, making it impossible to see certain areas where the incident might have taken place. Additionally, we have noticed ongoing issues with general care and attention. Staff members rarely wipe the children’s noses, leaving them uncomfortable and untended. It seems as though the primary focus is solely on ensuring that the children are safe from immediate harm rather than properly caring for them throughout the day. This lack of detailed attention makes it clear that the children are not being looked after as they should be. The lack of supervision, inadequate reporting, and insufficient care practices are deeply disappointing and unsettling for us as parents. We trusted the center to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our child, and this experience has severely impacted that trust. We hope that First Five Reservoir takes these issues seriously and implements the necessary improvements to ensure better supervision, thorough incident reporting, and comprehensive care for all children in their center.

My wife went in for tour in late 2022 after hearing the old operators (Montessori) have been replaced by a totally new team with impressive qualifications and expertise in child development. We instantly signed up and have been blown away by the facilities and staff. All the staff know our boy by name and their care for the children is obvious. Beyond the small rooms for different age cohorts, the kids have an enormous and well air-conditioned outdoor undercover area, uncovered outdoor areas, and I believe a special a sensory room is under development. We recieve updates throughout the day via app, and photos every day of the diverse activities including musical instruments, painting, stories, water-play, and more. The centre also asks for goals for each child every few months to help shape curriculum. We love that all meals are freshly made and that, hats, bibs, nappies etc are provided - this really simplifies things. Our baby is in cloth nappies and staff have been great accommodating this. I would highly recommend First Five to anyone. Underrated gem, not helped by the fact that the old montessori reviews are still listed here. I'd advise everyone to ignore any reviews from before 2023. The new team have nothing to do with the old Montessori owners - like if one restaurant closed and another opened at the same address. New owners are fantastic and highly specialised - couldn't ask for better.
