We have a really good experience with the school pre-pandemic, but the new head of school and teachers says they had tons of experience and the kids happiness was their priority. In my opinion they have really limite knowledge to deal or help each individual kids. If the kids doesn't follow their standard seems to be a huge problem for them. My son has hard time to adapt and needs extra support but they don't have the time or staff to do it. Our last meeting they openly suggested my son has neurological disorder, without an appropriate professional evaluation, just because they can't connect with him. He was evaluated by a therapist, and his pediatrician and nothing is close to that fake diagnostic they gave us. The only thing they did was causing a lot of stress in our family. All their PT meetings we have highlighted what our son was not achieving instead of focusing in what he learnt, we always make us feel something was wrong with him, which is NOT true. Be aware all 5 starts reviews are from previous admin.

As long as the Head of School, Laura, and executive director, Shannon Blackwell, are employees with wonderland-I would highly advise to look elsewhere. They are not people who carry a lot of integrity and they also do not operate for the children…everything starts from the top down and it is very apparent. Laura will say it’s all about the children, however provides zero support for the teachers to provide the environment demanded by the Montessori method and zero communication from her. There are apparent financial issues wonderland cannot seem to figure out…what they are aiming to be, will not survive in the location they are at. If you’re looking for an AMI Montessori—Southlake Montessori is a much better atmosphere and head of school to be in your childrens lives.

I would highly discourage anybody that wants a quality education from a trustworthy staff to send your child to this place. In the 2 years we attended, Wonderland went through countless heads of school and teachers. We stayed out of loyalty to two particular teachers (even after our child was denied food and water and had to change classes to get out, while that specific teacher had no repercussions). The tuition has changed multiple times, the last time June of 2019. Less than a year later, we are encouraged to pay a hold fee to hold our child’s “spot” and that it would count towards December’s tuition. There was a difference in wording between April and May’s 2020 emails, and if you try to argue over that, they will dig deep into semantics. The night that that hold fee was due, we get an email saying everything was changing. Classrooms, “guides”, tuition, EVERYTHING. During a pandemic – they decide not only to restructure how tuitions is done (from one rate to a school/summer rate), making it confusing to calculate. Ours went up 11.6%. This is despite being sent a tuition card in June of 2019, in the interest of clarity, promising that price would hold, less than one year before. In addition to that, they said that after this year, if you could not pay the ENTIRE school year in ADVANCE, they would tack on an additional 3% to monthly payments. For the last two years they pushed for AMS certifications. Then on a whim, during a pandemic, change it to AMI certifications. This meant that all the teachers or “guides” that got their certs, were forced to relocate, be fired, or invited back as “assistant teachers “ and were informed about 2 weeks before school was supposed to start again. If you balked at all of these changes, a complete turnover of staff, guides, and classrooms, you would be told “Montessori isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the differences are most abundant in the 3-6 age range, where we are preparing children for multiplication, division, and basic algebra”. And that “Montessori isn’t trademarked,” so literally anybody can use it. That has been made clear. So basically, if you get tired of the lack of communication, poor decision making, and prices that don’t show results, you must want your kid to go somewhere “where all they do is play all day”. According to their thought process, if you think it is wrong to encourage people to pay a hold fee and then wait until that night to inform them that everything is changing and what they did to their staff was morally despicable, then you must not want a good education for your child. Their failings as a company in getting kids prepared for Kindergarten had been made clear and instead of investing in themselves to make a better product, they have decided to push their failures onto the parents. They state “ We have offered the opportunity to maintain the pricing you agreed to previously,” and yet when parents inquire about this, one person says yes. Not five hours later, the head of the school says no, that is only for those who have financial hardships. So what does this come down to? If you want a school that consistently doesn’t keep their word – Wonderland is for you. If you want a school that shows no loyalty to their families or staff during a pandemic or any other time – Wonderland is for you. If you want a school that has a head who is certified in administration but not certified in AMI to lead all of these drastic changes – Wonderland if for you. I would not only NEVER recommend this place to another parent and I wouldn’t even recommend it as a place of work. If you want to ask other schools in the area about the Wonderland Mass Exodus of 2020, I’m sure they can tell you all about how it benefited them.

Being at WMA-Trophy Club has been incredible. My wife and I love it, and our son loves it. He's smiling when we drop him off and smiling when we pick him up. He seems to get a lot of dedicated attention and has made rapid progress there (e.g., sitting up, walking, talking, and so on). They teach Spanish, sign language, and other things that we couldn't give him at home. The school itself is extremely nice and new and has a lot of activities for the kids. It's safe, secure, and more. The staff are friendly, responsive, and communicative. I really cannot say enough good about this place. STRONGLY recommended.

We love Wonderland. The teachers are really warm, kind, and knowledgeable. My youngest is in Children's House and absolutely loves his teacher (Ms. Ayu) and going to school every day. He's learned all kinds of things as well as grown in confidence and independence since we started at Wonderland a year ago. He is 4 and came home the other day naming all of the continents! The school also does a great job with school aged kiddos. They provide lots of fun, engaging activities during after school hours and in the summer. This is important to me because it means my son enjoys his time there.
