My daughter had a wonderful experience here from age 2-5! She grew tremendously and was definitely prepared for kindergarten. The Montessori approach helped her gain confidence. The leadership & staff really seem to care about the children.

Wake Forest Montessori is an EXCELLENT choice for any child in my opinion. Before WFM, we had never been exposed to Montessori education before, but I have to say there are a lot of things I like about it! There is a strong focus on independent work through what they call "works" or an independent, hands-on type activity that a child chooses on their own when they enter the classroom. Each work is unique, and teaches them a certain skill in a fun and challenging way! Pictures are sent home through an app regularly during the week of our child working with magnets, sorting different shapes into bins, trying out a new musical instrument, or stringing beads to teach fine motor skills. They also work in groups to solve problems, such as labeling the different parts of a tree or categorizing pictures into groups of small, medium and large. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Julia and Stefanie lead a great group of people here. Each teacher that both our little guys had has been respectful and caring, and truly invested in the success of each one. I always felt respected too! The atmosphere is also very warm and inviting compared to some daycare environments we've been to. I also like to leave constructive criticism or "just to be aware" for any Google review I do. While Montessori education certainly teaches a child independence and critical thinking through lots of experiential interactions, it can be a shock for some children when placing them back into a "traditional" school for Kindergarten and thereafter. Our other son had a hard transition after leaving WFM, and it was probably because of the nature of the school we put him in - which involves a lot of sitting behind a desk all day and listening to a teacher lecture. He still to this day wishes he could go back to WFM! And while I wish traditional education would change in many areas, unfortunately it is what it is and there's honestly nothing WFM or any Montessori school can or would do different in that regard. There are a few K-12 Montessori schools around the Raleigh area. But I get the impression in talking to other parents there's only one nearby that truly has a great reputation. So all in all, if you're looking for a place that actually invests in your child through independent works and meaningful group interactions & activities, rather than a place that basically just "babysits" your child all day, then Wake Forest Montessori should definitely be a place for you to consider!! :)

Wake Forest Montessori is an excellent school that has helped my child grow and develop, both emotionally and educationally. The focus is on preparing the child for kindergarten, and my child is definitely prepared. But they also teach how to handle and deal with your emotions and conflict resolution, focusing both on independent and group play and learning; helping to prepare your child for the big world. The teachers, staff and administration all truly care about your child and family.

Both of my daughters ages now 7 and 5 attended WFM. We just love the school, staffing, other families, and the overall environment. We were first interested I. The fact that they have such a hands on teaching and learning approach, just as we tend to teach our own children at home. They are considerate and accommodating when it comes to family issues weather emotional or financial. I never thought I would do the early child care for my kids but after my eldest PreK experiences her sister was ready to jump in and we felt comfortable enough doing so. The children are exposed to not only the regular learnings but to culture and detail in nature the world and life. My oldest wishes she could go back honestly lol. I drive 30mins jus for this school experience for my children and the pleasent people.

WFM is an excellent school where teachers pay a lot of attention to the development of overall personality of a child and not focus only on certain areas. School has got a very well designed curriculum and teachers spend a lot of time in assessing the individual growth of kids. I would definitely recommend this school to all parents who want to see their kids grow, I mean REALLY grow like out two sons have.

The school has become a home away from home for my son. He loves the teachers. They are very supportive of his growth into a productive citizen of the world. He is blossoming more every week he attends!

My son was born with level 3 & 4 brain bleeds and was predicted to have severe Cerebral Palsy. He didn’t eat on his own until about six months of age and didn’t speak until he began at Wake Forest Montessori at age three. Before Wake Forest Montessori, he was doing feeding therapy, speech therapy, and developmental therapy two to three times a week in addition to church preschool. Our therapist recommended Wake Forest Montessori when he wasn’t progressing. After being immersed at Wake Forest Montessori he learned to speak, interact with other children enjoy, and thrived within months. Not only did Wake Forest Montessori change my son's life, it gave a mother hope for the future of her child and a child a future.
