The Children's House Montessori School

I would like to join the chorus of support for TCH. My son has been in their summer camp and preschool for about 10 months and has blossomed. His intelligence was never a question, but like a lot of 3 year old boys, harnessing that intellect and applying it to positive learning was a struggle. Every day there is some discernable growth. The staff and teachers create an environment that incubates the natural talents of each child and leads them on a journey to learning. Through community partnerships they expose the students to arts, environmental awareness, and other non-academic endeavors pertinent to a well rounded life. I have been impressed with this school.

This is an excellent preschool through 8th grade school! We are so lucky and happy to have found such great teachers and environment for our son. Please check it out.

We couldn't be happier with the education our kiddos have been receiving at their little school. I love that the teachers understand that not all children learn in the same capacity, and if needed, seek out a method that's appropriate until the child is able to grasp concepts. Also, the importance of art, music, playtime, getting dirty and helping each other succeed is not lost on their day. I find these activities/values are equally just as important with helping them learn to be more well-rounded and balanced, and ultimately succesful. If you're wanting to give your child a unique education; the kind that stresses the love of outdoors, friendship and community this could very well be the place for your family. I always think of the quote - "It's the little things that matter"- well, this couldn't be more telling of The Children's House.

One of my best parenting decisions! Our daughter has been attending the Children's House for three years now. We wanted her to have the freedom to learn and grow in her own way. The Children's House is everything we hoped for. Our daughter takes responsibility for her education by building her own schedule for each week (with teacher supervision, of course!). From there, she receives individualized instruction from each teacher. For instance, when it is time for math, she works one-on-one with the math teacher. Her questions are answered, and she is learning a great deal. We couldn't be happier with her progress, her curiosity, and her desire to learn. These are all nurtured here. The school allows her the freedom to be creative through art, music, and play. She is learning, creating, and exploring. Our daughter loves to go to school!

Such a gem! Where learning is TRULY tailored to your child because each child is working at their own pace. My daughter was going to a traditional but very expensive private school that claimed to "meet my child where she is" but she floundered with group expectations and work that didn't fit her. We switched to TCH and now she is zooming ahead, and most importantly, loving learning! She's gaining independence and confidence after the group-think beat her down. The staff here really knows each child and works to make sure they are developed as whole people. Kids' social learning is just as important as academics. She now loves learning music and wants to play instruments. She can't wait to go to school each day, and doesn't want to leave at the end of the day.
