The Academy, Early Education Center - Altoona Site

I previously left feedback on this location, however, things went tragically downhill and fast. Nonstop employee changes, unanswered questions, and zero structure are now issues. My child was being bit nonstop and they stated it was “normal for that age”. My child was shuffled between rooms constantly and I was given the reason that they were “transitioning him for when he is in that room” or “he does better with the older kids”. The real reason was ratios and not planning and staffing accordingly for our schedule/set days. My child received subpar care because of their lack of planning.

They are absolutely amazing with the children. My daughter loves all of her teachers and gets so excited everytime i drop her off. They are more then just a daycare. They help the children develop their skills and they become and extended family to the children!

My son has been with the Academy since May or June and they are an amazing daycare. The workers know my son and he knows most but is always shy in the morning. I get notifications thru the app they have to tell me about what is going on all day while he is there. I have had meetings to help improve my son behavior, whoch is helping met his needs while he is there. He is involved with different programs which it is easier for them to visit there because of my work schedule. They are giving my son a good environment to learn and grow and I would recommend them because they are about the children.

I cannot say enough good things about The Academy. As a single mom, it is very difficult to trust and lean on anybody to watch my daughter. The ladies working in the infant room take such good care of my daughter, they are so sweet and they genuinely seem like they love all of the babies in there. It’s very clean, there are lots of activities for the little ones, I see babies doing tummy time etc so I trust that they are very knowledgeable on milestones as well. There’s also an app where they update you on naps, feeding, diaper changes etc, which brings me so much peace of mind. I hear horror stories about other facilities in the area, i wouldn’t want my girl going anywhere else!

My 5 month old has been going to the Academy for a couple months now. We love all the teachers and the love they have for the kids is amazing! I love the app they have and the pictures they send which makes my day a little better when I’m at work knowing my child is very taken care of. I couldn’t choose a better safe, loving and happy environment for my child.

We love The Academy and all of the staff! My daughter has learned so much and is excited to go to “school” everyday!

My little blessing goes to the infant room, they already keep a good eye out for her! Always lets us know what’s going on, especially with cold season upon us they have been VERY good with informing the parents about everything! <3 I’m happy that she goes here, just good vibes only and my daughter just loves the caretakers there, she wouldn’t even come to me when I come get her she does to the ladies :’) Makes me feel comfortable knowing she’s in a safe environment.

Both as a work environment and a daycare to my own son, The Academy is absolutely wonderful. I have been with both centers, and they are each amazing! The staff is supportive and people you can feel comfortable with, the rooms do lots of fun activities, and they take their sickness policies seriously which keeps all our babies safe. My son has grown to absolutely love his teachers and they are a safe place for him. Working there has by far been my favorite place I’ve worked, and the admins never fail to make me feel loved and welcomed. When choosing a daycare, none even came close to here! Very proud to be an Academy family🩷
