Our World Montessori

Our son is in his third year at Our World Montessori and we could not be happier. This small pre-k and k school is a gem. All the staff is wonderful and fully dedicated to the well-being and development of the whole child. The Montessori method is truly special as it fosters not only academic skills but also social, life and soft skills (the curriculum includes practical life skills and grace and courtesies). Children develop self-confidence, are able to explore the classroom and its material at their own pace. We love that the material is hands on. I wish I had been able to learn math that way (practical and fun). Our son has been thriving. He is curious and his teachers have been providing him with lots of opportunities to explore his interests such as the solar system and constellations. The third year is such an amazing year as he is now taking on the role of leader in the classroom. He loves to guide younger children in completing activities as well as taking on more challenging tasks on his own. He has made strides in math and reading skills but most importantly, he is full of joy, loves to go to school and has developed a true love of learning. Normally parents are fully involved with many parents information nights, family dinners at school and other events. OWM is a fantastic community. Finally, the Director is highly responsive and fully involved in the day to day operations of the school. We highly recommend Our World Montessori to anyone looking for excellence and nurturing in a preschool and kindergarten program.

After looking at many different child care solutions, we ended up finding Our World and have been extremely satisfied. The staff is amazing, they find ways to make sure parents feel included in different school activities, and they communicate and keep us informed. They also have different schedule options which have made the transition easier for us as a family. We are extremely happy and have recommended to anyone who has been looking for somewhere to send their children.

We feel so lucky to have found Our World Montessori. Our daughter is in her first year in the toddler room and absolutely loves going to school. She comes home each day talking about all of her friends (which includes the teachers as well!). She has gained so much confidence and become so independent in just this first year. They treat each child as family and respect their individual needs and personalities. We cannot wait to continue with Our World and look forward to sending our next child there as well!

This school was a blessing for our daughter. We were so committed to enrolling her in the Our World Montessori program that we put her on the waiting list 2 years before she began! The school follows ALL of the Montessori guidelines and cultivates a mutual respect between teachers, students AND parents. Having everyone on the same page regarding our child’s education was so helpful as we navigated our daughter’s strengths and challenges. Thankfully the teachers were able to identify her needs and she was able to thrive in the montessori environment. We are thrilled that she had such caring and attentive teachers. Making lifelong friends was an added bonus. We are grateful for the school and the care that they gave to our daughter and us!

Unfortunately bad experience for me and my daughter, I saw disrespect from head of the school for several times. Second day of my daughter's school I had job interview a few minutes later so I decided to drop her off and then try to get there on time, we arrived at school 5 minutes earlier I rang the bell and she was behind the door and didn't open and just ignore us and I was wandering what is going on , I didn't know they won't open the door even one minute earlier and nobody told me before (school is open at 7:45 for some kids that come early).after all when we got in she said oh your daughter can't stay today because you didn't still give us her immunization records ,I tried to explain that I have no time to go back home because of job interview and I'm going to bring those records today as I had a call the day before from my daughter's doctor office that is going to be ready today by noon but she didn't even wait to talk , she didn't listen just said what she wanted to say and left the room. Ofcourse I don't want to break any rules or make trouble for the school all I wanted was maybe just listening to me and simple explanation if she could help me or not ( how come she accept my daughter yesterday with no records but not today?!) I felt so bad

We have seen tremendous growth in our child since attending Our World, because the teachers make their students' social, emotional, and academic development a priority. We've seen each of the teachers in action, and can attribute much of our child's independence and self confidence to the Montessori philosophy and teaching approach. In addition, we cannot say enough good things about the teachers' overall commitment to the students well being. Each has a unique style that fully embraces the identity of each child while nurturing their growth and monitoring their progress. We highly recommend Our World Montessori.

My family has been part of the Our World Montessori community for six years, and all of my children have attended. I can’t possibly say enough good things about this program. The staff are incredibly dedicated and kind, well-trained, and squarely focused on the success of our children. OWM leadership is supportive of the staff and committed to their professional development, and extraordinarily accommodating to families with diverse needs. I could not have asked for a better place for my children to learn and grow in the early stages of their development, and we are deeply grateful for all that OWM has done for us as a family.

I feel the need to respond to Anita's review . . . It is an OCFS requirement for parents to provide immunization records prior to their children attending any child care program. It sounds like this parent was asking Our World to bend the rules at the risk of them losing their license. Also - being upset because a business wouldn't open early for you shows disrespect on the part of the parent, not the school. Would you ring the doorbell at CVS or Hannaford and expect them to open early for you? Would you expect a lawyer or doctor to begin your appointment early because you have another appointment? Of course not! Our experience at Our World was wonderful. OWM is an authentic Montessori school with certified teachers and administration. Every adult there is completely dedicated to the children and the program is amazing. Montessori provides children with the opportunity to follow their passions and develop a strong love of learning. Both of my daughters thrived at OWM and remember their time there with great fondness. I am incredibly grateful for the foundation OWM provided for them and highly, highly, highly recommend this school to any parent looking for an exceptional program for their child(ren).

My children have attended Our World since they have been 18 months old. I interviewed many preschools and day care facilities before finding Our World. I was blown away by the staff, the classroom and attention to detail the staff gave to all the children. Their classrooms run like clockwork and there is always order. The staff is always respectful, not only parents, but to the children as well. They teach what schools today lack in everyday life. Not only do my children get a great jump start to their education but they are taught how to be a well rounded kind person, and isn’t that one of the greatest lessons we can give our kids. I highly recommend you give it a try!
