I am consistently impressed with MSA. The amount of thoughtfulness and love that goes into educating their students in a way that builds lifelong confidence and resilience is so evident. They truly are invested in each and every one of these children. The facilities are beautiful and enriching, and the faculty is really wonderful.

As with all schools, there are ups and downs and perplexing issues to navigate. The opening year was particularly difficult for the administration, as the school and faculty were working to get their feet under them. There were logistical issues, classroom management issues, and staffing problems, but all of that pales in comparison to the fantastic childhood experience delivered to the children. I have three children enrolled at MSA, and I speak from firsthand experience. I have seen one issue that challenges the school and could leave some parents dissatisfied with the experience: a good number of parents whos children have been expelled or disciplined or failed out of other schools have enrolled their children in MSA hoping the excellent Waldorf method will be better suited for their kid(s). The truth is, they are right. It is better suited for those children. But when you have a classroom full of 1st graders and 6 or more of them are traumatized kids with severe behavior problems, pretty much any teacher is going to struggle. The first year the school was in operation, they were not prepared to handle this. It caused some significant difficulties and the pain was felt by students, parents, administrators, and teachers alike. I have to add here that a previous review citing "toxic attitudes" and "appropriating Waldorf philosophy into a business venture" is, in my personal opinion, unfounded and not based on objective reality. The administration, and especially the Director, are sincerely good; they love the school, they love Waldorf, and they love the kids. I'm sure some difficult scenarios have come up and left some parents upset (see the one negative review), but don't let this dissuade you from investigating for yourself. You won't be sorry.

We have loved our experience at Mountain Sunrise! My daughter is a sixth grader and has enjoyed the amazing hands on learning experiences they offer through gardening, violin, hand work crafts, and more. They not only studied Medieval Europe but they trained as knights, studied their virtues, and culminated their lessons with a knighting ceremony of each student and a Medieval Faire to show off their new skills. They truly cultivate a love of learning and nature in a safe and beautiful environment. The teachers and Director Rose truly have a passion for what they do and it shows! We are so thankful for our experience at Mountain Sunrise and I would highly encourage other families to take one of their free tours to learn more about this unique and amazing educational option for their children.

My children are so happy with Mountain Sunrise Academy, specifically my first grader. She was part of the first Kindergarten class there and have been learning much more then curriculum school but to live and respect nature, children are there to be nurture, educated and good humans and MSA does a marvelous job.

I have a child who attends Mountain Sunrise Academy and I have absolutely loved the experience. Love the Waldorf model so much. He is excelling. And the campus in Saratoga Springs so beautiful and full of color. Highly recommend you go tour the facilities. This is the reason we moved back to Utah. To attend this school.

Having only experienced public school we were initially nervous to switch to a new charter. I can't really speak on how 'waldorf' it is because I am new to waldorf education. I do know it is not like public school. Director Rose is amazing and the teachers and staff are amazing. Since it's a new school, there are the expected growing pains. Especially with it opening during the Covid Pandemic. They really care about the students and families and their decisions reflect so. I'm glad we made the switch and are now apart of the MSA family.
