Montessori School of Wausau

A wonderful school!!

My husband and I choose to send our two boys, now ages 7 and 11, to Montessori School of Wausau. I will never forget the day when the boys proudly walked up to me to show me the first book they knew how to read on their own. Montessori provided my boys with a solid base of literacy and independence which has served them well throughout their school careers.

Both of our children attended Montessori School of Wausau, and we were thrilled with it each and every day. The facilities are clean, well lighted, well kept, and safe. The staff is dedicated, caring, understanding, and enthusiastic. They work hard to help the children succeed. They were flexible, helpful and worked with us the provide the best experience for our children. They were open to us asking them to focus on areas of learning with our children, and both left with the beginnings of reading and some math. Not once did either of our children not look forward to going to school, and we were sorry to see our youngest "graduate" and move on to elementary school!

Both of our children attended the Montessori School of Wausau and we could not have been more pleased with the experience we all had there. We have always felt that the Montessori School is the best kept secret in Wausau. Our kids received a quality pre-school education and we always felt that the staff cared for our children with the utmost concern and respect. As a result of their time there, the transition to Kindergarten was very smooth and, academically, they were way ahead of most other kids at the start of public school. Quite simply, we cannot say enough about the Montessori Program and their staff. We feel very fortunate to have uncovered that "best kept secret."

All three of my girls attended the Montessori School of Wausau. They all attended the two years prior to entering kindergarten. Here's why: 1. First and foremost, the staff is amazing. All of the teachers have a long history at the school. They have a true sense of the educational needs of young children, and are able to modify their curriculum based on each student's needs. They are all very nurturing, but also encourage independence. 2. Secondly, the education students receive is top notch. Two of my three children were reading before entering kindergarten and the other well on her way. They were appropriately challenged and the material was constantly changing. 3. The facilities are wonderful. The building is locked and the playground area has a fence around it. Additionally, the classrooms are light and clean. Students each have their own cubby. Everything is well cared for. 4. Perhaps most importantly, I truly felt like a part of something when I dropped off my children at the school. I was always warmly greeted (as were my children). The School assisted my daughters in their academic, social, and personal growth. This place is a gem, and I was sorry when we no longer had a child to send to the school.

Montessori is a great facility with kind and caring teachers and staff. The environment is structured, yet free for children to choose from several different educational activities. For my very busy son, he has done well and enjoyed this learning experience. I would recommend Montessori to anyone looking into a preschool program.

I am very pleased with the Montessori School of Wausau. Choosing a place and people to trust, care and teach your child without you there was very stressful for me because I am a constant worrier. I felt that this school was the right choice for several reasons. I looked for safety, cleanliness, location, quality of care, friendliness and education of the staff, and cost of care. I am pleased with all of these. On our very first visit to check out the school one of the staff showed my 3 year old a neat way to put his coat on and he has been proudly been putting his coat on like this ever since. He has learned so much since he has been there, things I didn't even think a 3 year old was even capable of doing yet. On "mom's night" I got to really know what the Montessori learning methods are all about and I was very impressed with this way of learning. I noticed that since he has started going that his willingness to be independent strengthened. He really likes all his teachers and on the weekends he will "call" them and tell them what he is doing. And he likes to talk about his day and what he did after I pick him up. I know that cost is a big issue for a lot of people including myself and I feel that the price is very fair. I needed care for only 4 days a week and this school has a few different kinds of rates and going with the daily rate best fit my work schedule. I could go on for a long time about all the things that I am pleased with. I recommend this school to anyone looking for safe, quality care and education at a decent price. It really is a gift to your child in many different ways.

A Gem of a Preschool in Wausau! Upon moving to the Wausau area, my family needed to find a preschool for our 2.5-year-old daughter. We toured many preschools/daycares in the area and Montessori School of Wausau was by far the best option! The knowledgeable teachers are kind and nurturing, the classrooms are full of light, the building is nestled in a quiet tree-filled neighborhood, and our daughter just loves the huge playground! Also, the tuition is a lot less than all of the other preschools we toured and the extended hours of operation are very reasonable for a working mom like me. There was no question that MSW was the perfect preschool for us. Montessori School of Wausau gives me the confidence that my daughter is spending her day with caring, professional teachers, rather than inexperienced "babysitters." She comes home full of smiles, as well as new skills and knowledge. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for the best PreK program in town.
