Montessori School of Ojai

This school is a second family to our daughter. She has attended from 5th-8th grade. It is a place with no pretense and genuine authenticity. As a result of who our daughter is and her time with the Montessori School of Ojai, she is continuing on to a great and highly rated private high school. Finding MSO upon moving to Ojai was the best thing to happen for her. Everyone at the school knows her, the atmosphere is welcoming, with so few students she has received quality and specific attention to her education and as a person. Socially, being a small school with mixed grade classes we have not had any problems--no cliques, bullying, etc. The size, setup, and philosophy of the school just don't allow for it. We cannot speak highly enough of our experience with the school and their most amazing staff and teachers.

My oldest son just graduated from 8th grade at MSO. He has been so nurtured by all the staff. His teachers have challenged him in just the right way. I will never forget the day he said, "I love school". He was 8 years old and had already been to three schools, he has had never said this before! Our youngest is in 2nd grade now and is thriving! We are so grateful for the Montessori School of Ojai.

My daughters attended Montessori School of Ojai from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade, graduating in 2009. They are graduating from High School this year and have been accepted at Penn State and NYU at the age of 16. My daughters embraced their years at MSO and looked forward to school every day and were actively engaged in learning and discovery.Their Montessori education helped them develop critical thinking skills and gain confidence in themselves. This foundation and love of learning has taught them how to become independent students. This foundation has helped them succeed at the high school level, with one challenging herself at Foothill Technology High School with rigorous AP classes and the my other daughter working independently at El Camino High School while attending Ventura College. They both gained leadership skills through the Montessori Model United Nations Program in their middle school years. Their life long love of learning was sparked at MSO and contributed to their success in high school and their acceptance at two the best colleges of in the country. I cannot say enough great things about Montessori School of Ojai.

My daughter is almost 3 years old and has been attending the Montessori school of Ojai for a year. Going to school a few mornings a week was her first experience away from me, and her teachers were so wonderful at helping her through this transition with their genuine love, attention and care. I love how simple and balance the classroom feels, with all objects of natural material that kids use for their work. Kids also get to participate in the garden and develop a relationship with all kind of different animals present on campus. They have music classes every week and my daughter already participated to two musicals, which were the two most precious shows I have ever seen! My daughter is thriving at the Montessori school of Ojai and I am so grateful for her teachers to create such a nurturing environment for her.

My daughter is two years old, and has attended MSO for a year. Every morning she wakes up saying "I want to go to school, mommy!" She seems to enjoy every minute of her school time. I have noticed an increase in her compassion for others, and her curiosity about how things work. Her vocabulary is expanding every day, and her ability to express her feelings is far above what I would expect from a two year old. Thank you MSO for giving my daughter a place to not only learn, but also to flourish!

The Montessori School of Ojai is a wonderful place for learning of all ages. This is a great, small, private school with an amazing campus and delightful teachers. The Montessori classroom materials and individualized learning make it suitable for all ages and levels of learning. Your child can take a little extra time and help to get through the lessons, or can breeze through it and excel onward at their own pace. This really has been a blessing, and we will stay at Montessori as long as possible.

Our son has now been attending Montessori School of Ojai for 3 years. He has an individualized learning program designed as a collaborative effort by his teachers, the school, and based upon his needs and desires to learn more. His hunger to learn, and his imagination are nurtured in the MSO environment. All of the teachers have a vested interest in each individual child's success and it shows. We are thrilled to be a part of a great school and a diverse learning environment. Whether your child is an advanced learner or has learning challenges, MSO follows the tradition created by Maria Montessori to work with each child as an individual. We love MSO.
