Montessori Academy of Chambersburg

We love this school and the teachers are very good and communicate always. It is refreshing after spending years in the public schools in PA.

An excellent private school with dedicated teachers. We have been very happy with them for over three years.

The school is great and overall my children are feeling much more excepted there than at the old school

BLUF: I would not recommend this school. I was doing a school visit with my soon to be 2nd grader, we had just moved to the area. No one told me at the initial visit I would be leaving my child in the classroom alone for the second visit. It was initially explained as an observation for my child and I. When the person giving me the tour told me I was not able to watch or stay in the room I got very suspicious and stood there looking at the person. The person leading the tour actually said, "I can have the teacher just grab your child and take them in the room, if you want." I laughed so hard. In the end the teacher of the class said it was fine for me to stay and observe but I had already made up my mind, that was NOT the school for my family. It's a beautiful building and schoolgrounds but it did not give a warm and fuzzy feeling.

We signed up for the summer camp 9-week program only to find out that we had overpaid for a daycare not much camp activities going on. Some teachers who were getting ready to retire had pretty much checked out already and just going through the motions. The administration had changed abruptly since we enrolled and was being led by a secretary. Their discipline policy was all over the map. Asked 5 different teachers and received different responses. Most times when we came to pick up our child the teachers were outside talking together and letting kids play on swing sets. We will not be enrolling for coming year.

I was so disappointed in how this school was organized and felt slapped in the face when a physical conflict arose with my child and he could no longer attend. Please make sure you are very careful with the Song and dance to get your business.
