Long Hill Montessori School

Our son has been through the entire LHMS preschool program and our younger daughter has been there for one year. Choosing the LHMS has been one of the best decisions we have made as parents! The teachers are all amazing, dedicated, smart, warm & loving. Our children look forward to attending each day. They support each child's individual needs while making school a fun experience. Their academic program has exceeded our expectations and our kids continue to amaze us with everything they learn. LHMS truly provides a strong foundation for an excellent educational experience. We highly recommend this program!!

We consider ourselves so lucky to have had LHM literally in our backyard while we lived in Stirling. Our daughter went to school there for her second year of preschool, and we had just the most positive experience. The owners and teachers, Kelly and Fiona, are truly wonderful in every way. Our daughter thrived there, academically, socially and emotionally. She is in kindergarten now in public school (we would have stayed at LHM for her kindergarten year had we not moved) and she is excelling in math, reading and writing. I truly believe that she loves math so much because of what she learned at Montessori. She’s already adding and subtracting double digit numbers (including negatives!) and can do simple multiplication and division! If you have the opportunity to send your child to Long Hill Montessori, do so without hesitation. You will inevitably have the same incredible experience that we and so many other families have had there.

Caring teachers especially for those little ones (2-3 years old) just starting school. Also great that they are an accredited Montessori school!

My daughter started her beautiful journey at LHMS Acron room September 2018. I still vividly remember the first day we sent her to school. She was excited, curious and also scared. Born in a non-English speaking family, the language is always the first step to get out to the world. I remember at the first few days, she cried and cried, and tried to talk in Chinese. Just imagining how frustrated she was that nobody understand her. It was tough for her in this entirely new environment and was also not easy for us. Fortunately, LHMS has the best teachers ever. They were so nice, so patient and tried every effort to make her feel safe and comfortable. Every time we picked her up, the teachers would update us on her progress which really helped to make this transition going more smoothly. Only 5 months later, my little one is all about school now. She has no problem communicating with others in English and sometimes even correct us at home. She loves her teacher and her friends at school. She like to show off her work she made at school. I am so proud of her. So glad to see how much progress she made and how much she learned during the past few months. And of course, we cannot go this far without the help and love from her teachers at LHMS. I cannot wait to see her growing more in the next few years here. We love LHMS.

Long Hill Montessori has taken wide open minds eager to dissect every lesson, learn every detail and broadened them wider. Their balance of the tangible and intangible is graceful and artfully done. My children know how to work through challenging work with persistence and focus. Conversely they have learned to notice another who may need help, their empathy nurtured and their souls empowered to reach out and help.

As we are close to finishing our 2nd year at LHM I have all positive thoughts about our experience and I feel happy in our decision to have sent our children here. The owners Kelly and Fiona are knowledgeable and supportive which are important characteristics for a parent as they send their children to school. My children started at 2.5 and 4 years old, both have grown so much in two years. The teaching staff are loving, nurturing and know how to motivate and encourage. The children understand the importance of community, and helping others. School lunches have helped enforce the behaviors important to me at our family table. A proud momma who's children even help set the table, clear it and put away laundry! I can't forgot to mention the unbelievable math and reading skills they have learned as well as about the world, it's landscape and cultures! Thank you LHM!

My daughter just loves her school and she is always so excited to go there. The teachers are absolutely amazing, warm and loving. I know my daughter is in good hands without a doubt and she is thriving through the work they are doing. The new owners, Kelly and Fiona are definitely doing incredible work! I would recomend the school to everybody.

My 'almost' 5 yr old twins started their Montessori journey in the beautiful and very nurturing Acorn room (for toddlers). This was the perfect transition into school from their 3 years of life at home with me. The classroom was full of inviting activities that my children were encouraged to choose independently. This really helped to build their focus and concentration along with instilling confidence, responsibilities, patience and respect. All of this being very difficult lessons for a 2-3 years old but crucial to functioning in life. After that amazing year in the Acorn Room a strong foundation had been created. I felt confident they were fully prepared for the next part of the journey which was to move up to the Oak room (3-6). My son and daughter are now in their second year in the Oak room and absolutely love going to school. The teachers are brilliant and have taught them the love of learning, curiosity, creativity, and of course great independence. I also love the teacher's enthusiasm/dedication to nurturing each child's unique abilities, both academically and socially. I am always confident the teachers will handle all situation the right way, which is very reassuring. My children have learned so much at LHMS - they constantly surprise me. I can not wait to experience the Kindergarten program with them next year. I know I will be absolutely blown away. I can not thank the teachers enough for making my children's first school experience such a loving place where learning has been so much fun. I wish this type of hands on learning had been around when I was a preschooler!
