By far the best preschool around.

Our child was with Ms. Donalyn for 3 years before beginning kindergarten this past year. Throughout her time there, Ms. donalyn expertly taught our child in math, science, reading and writing. In addition, Ms. Donalyn was instrumental in guiding our child’s moral compass, teaching her right, wrong, and how to treat others. Above all else, Ms. Donalyn’s loving and tender approach to caring for our child sets her apart from other child care options. Our child ended her kindergarten year testing in the top percentile for reading and math. We are incredibly proud of our child and believe that Ms. Donalyn played a big part in this. There are a lot of childcare options out there - we believe that our money was more than well spent at Little Magnolia Preschool.. That relationship is ever lasting, not only with Ms Donalyn but between the children. We can never thank you enough, God knew what he was doing when he led us to your school.

I toured Little Magnolia Preschool for my daughter and knew right away that Donalyn had something special. She ended up not having space for our daughter, so I immediately put my 18 month old boy on her waiting list. He’s just finishing up “PK3” and is absolutely thriving! He’s learned so much alongside his classmates and the 1:1 teaching that Donalyn fits in. We can’t imagine him learning all that he’s learned anywhere else!

In the year my son has been at little magnolia, he has learned and blossomed more than I could've imagined. Mrs. Donalyn truly has a gift for what she does. I love the low ratio she maintains. It allows for more one on one help when needed. I am going to miss sending my little one here when kinder starts in the fall

We had the best time with Ms. Donnalyn at Little Magnolia. She is such a great teacher. My son not only made great friends and had a wonderful time, but he also developed academically and was reading! The best part was that she truly loves him and cares for him. We are so lucky to have found her!

When my daughter was 3, we started her at a typical "big class" preschool in Boerne. She was one in a sea of kids, and she would cry every day that I left her there. After a couple of months and the realization that there was a lot more "movie watching" happening than they had originally let on, we decided we needed a change. Coming to Mrs. Donalyn at Little Magnolia Preschool was the best decision we have EVER made. The school is such a warm, clean, and inviting environment. The small class size (6 kids) allows the teacher to pay individual attention to each kid, which helps them grow so much. It also allows them to form very close friendships - they love each other and play together so well, like siblings. My daughter will be going to kindergarten this fall and can read fluently, write sentences, and add and subtract. She LOVES learning and is always asking a thousand questions. The fact that she already has the kindergarten academics mastered will mean she can focus on adjusting to the big-school environment, making friends, and navigating the social aspects without having to stress about learning a bunch of new things at the same time. As far as Mrs. Donalyn goes, I could honestly write pages. She loves these kids like they are her own. She is incredibly patient, while at the same time enforcing necessary boundaries. She takes every opportunity to teach them life lessons: sharing, cleaning up, helping a friend out when they are upset, being a leader, being kind to each other, standing up for yourself, EVERYTHING. She takes the time to explain to the kids why certain behaviors are good or bad, with examples that they can understand. She really and truly cares about making these kids good people. My daughter has absolutely blossomed with her. Mrs. Donalyn's communication is fantastic. She sends a lesson plan every month for what they're going to be learning. We have a group chat with the parents of all the kids where she sends pictures and videos every day, as well as individual pictures to each parent. I love the videos, it's so great to see what the kids are up to! Mrs. Donalyn will text us whenever there is a concern or a cute story to share. A couple of times when my daughter was having a huge fit, she called me so I could talk my kid off the ledge. When I say that Mrs. Donalyn cares about these kids like they are her own, let me give you an example. She wanted the kids to learn about entrepreneurship, so she signed them up to run a lemonade stand for Boerne Lemonade Days. They spent time naming their business, learning about how to make lemonade, how to count money and give change, etc. Then she took time out of her weekend to help them set up and run the stand. Then they all discussed what to do with the profits. They donated half of it (the kids took one of those "big checks" to a local nonprofit), and used the rest to go to a local play place. It was such a fun experience, and took Mrs. Donalyn a lot of time outside of her "day job" of teaching the kids. I don't know how she has the energy to do all these things, but we are so grateful! One concern I had at the beginning was the school is Bible-based, and our family is not religious. This was not a big deal. They do learn about things from the Bible, but it is not overwhelming - the lessons are good and build character. And they also do science experiments, learn about animals, the water cycle, space, dental hygiene, make crafts (so many crafts!), raise butterflies, etc. The exposure to a bit of everything results in very well-rounded kids. Looking back, I have no idea why someone would choose a large facility over a small home preschool like this. Maybe because not all home preschools are this great. But let me tell you, you will NOT be disappointed here. If you want a place that goes above and beyond what you could ever imagine for your kid - give Mrs. Donalyn a call. I am so incredibly thankful that we had the opportunity to experience this school.

Donalyn is extremely committed to her students, going above and beyond to make lessons effective and engaging. It’s impressive how far ahead her kids are when they get to kinder age.
