Guidepost Montessori may be a great fit for children who naturally fit the Montessori learning environment. However, based on our experience, it's not be the best choice for every child—particularly for those who do not easily fit into the Montessori mold or for families transferring their children into the system at an older age. Our child, who transitioned into the school from another day care, faced difficulties adjusting, and we found the school’s approach to handling his transition severely lacking. The communication from Guidepost Montessori was notably insufficient. There was very little information provided to help us understand how our child’s individual needs would be met, and as a result, we felt left in the dark about his progress and any challenges he may have been facing. The most disappointing part of our experience came when we were informed, quite abruptly, that the school could no longer accommodate our child’s needs and his last day at the school would be that week. This decision felt sudden and left us without the necessary support to help our son navigate his transition. It was clear that the school is not equipped to make adjustments for children who require a more tailored approach, and the lack of communication made it even more difficult to understand how or why they had reached this conclusion. If your child fits well within the Montessori framework, Guidepost Montessori could be a great option. However, for children who may need more individualized support, especially if they are transferring into the system at an older age, the school may not offer the flexibility or resources needed to help them succeed. Our experience was marked by a lack of communication and an abrupt end to our child's time there, leaving us feeling unsupported and disappointed.

I have entrusted the growth and care of 3 of my children to the incredible guides and school leaders at Guidepost Montessori at Lawrenceville. The love and care of my children has always been at the forefront of the guides’ work. However, my children receive so much more than just quality care. They come home having completed incredible work. My 2 year old comes home wanting to help us fully unload and load our dishwasher. They come home with astounding levels of knowledge. My 4.5 year old is adding, subtracting, reading, and writing. They come home with envious amounts of agency. All three want to prepare their own meals and snacks, they want to choose their own outfits for the day, and they want to learn new things that excite them. Most importantly, they are coming home with supported, heartwarming humanity. They have patience when it is needed, are driven to help one another, and have made relationships with peers and adults that will last a lifetime. When they are dropped off at Guidepost, I know that they are going to, not only be cared for, but will grow, learn, and soar as human beings. They are (and will continue to be) better people because of their time at Guidepost.

Where to begin!? I guess I'll start out by saying our two boys have attended Guidepost for about 2.5 years now. Over the course of this time, we have gotten to know nearly every guide, the administration, and many assistant guides as well. This school is a true community, everyone who works there knows almost every single kid regardless of their class assignment or age. There are so many great things about this school I could write a book but for the sake of time... 1. This is a true school, not just a place where your kid is watched and fed throughout the day. These kids are using real montessori practices and materials which is taken seriously. The lead guides are super educated and passionate and it really shows. These kids are SMART. 2. Its FUN! My kids love it here and want to go. They get outdoor time multiple times a day, art opportunities, free play, etc. So while it is an educational institution, the schedule is age appropriate and allows them to still be children. I also love that they have summer programming with water play! 3. Communication through the app is great. Having access to an app which allows us to see photos of our kids while at school is one of the things I look forward most during my day. Guides can be reached via email, the app, or during pick up. Administration always answers the phone when we call and we never feel like we cant get a hold of someone if we need to. CliffsNotes: This is a great school with passionate staff. The kids learn and have fun. Our family couldn't be happier with our experience here and it has been a wonderful fit for our family.

First-Time Mom here! :-) Choosing this school for my baby has been one of my best decisions this year! My son started here when he was 11 months old (Feb 2023) in the Nido class and is now soon going on 2 years old and has been in one of the Toddler classes. I am so pleased with his growth and level of knowledge since being here. He is learning rapidly and is so happy here! I also really appreciate the catered lunches that are offered here that even has vegan/pescatarian options wich was hard for me to find in other schools. Most importantly, I feel like the staff truly cares for my child in and outside of the classroom from the head of school, Ms. Alli and the assistant head of school Mr. Dave and the classroom guides - they are an amazing group all around here. I highly recommend not just Guidepost Montessori but particularly the Lawrenceville campus is one the best around! I plan on keeping my son here for as long as he can.

Our son attended Guidepost Lincoln Park Nido/Young Toddler in Chicago -WE LOVED IT. When we moved to PA we tried a local school. And another local school. And another local school. Nothing compared to Guidepost. Originally, we didn't think to look in New Jersey, but thankfully we found the Lawrenceville location and could not be happier! The administration and staff are some of our favorite people. Whether its phone/email, events at school or off campus, we always feel included, aware and prepared for what is going on/ coming up at Guidepost. They do a great job at making the school feel like a community, that as parents we are part of and not just a place we are dropping our kids at. On top of that, there doesn't seem to be a single kid in that school that they don't know or work with themselves! The Guides (teachers) are the best. The work they do is evident in the leaps our children have made. It is so impressive to see them do things at home independently that we know were learned in class. The guides work with each child individually as well as a group so they really get to know their strengths and challenge them in other areas. From our kids POV, they love their guides. The bond they have with the kids is so wonderful and special, whether the end of the day at home or on vacation they always think of something they cant wait to share with their guides. TLDR-This place is wonderful and filled with dedicated people who we are so grateful to have in our families lives. We feel lucky to be a part of it. Thank you Guidepost!

Our son has only attended Guidepost Montessori for about 4 months and has made significant strides in his speech, social skills, & cognitive development. Of course he’s simply growing up but there has been significant support from not only his guides, but administration as well. Everyone was attentive about making sure WE had a smooth transition into him attending school. From just calling to introduce themselves prior to his first day, to trying to get to know us as a family before he even stepped foot in the building, the communication has been awesome from the beginning and has stayed that way. We get weekly/monthly newsletters from the guides of each class, emails throughout the week if something arises that needs to be announced and of course a daily summary of what happened with our kid throughout the day. Through various school day & extracurricular activities, our son has not only been able to build a relationship with the Lawrence Guidepost Staff, but us parents have as well. I don’t feel like I’m dropping my son off to strangers when he’s in school, and that’s a great feeling.
