I love BAMH! My children are thriving here. The people are lovely and excellent teachers. I was so excited to find this gem. I was looking for something structured yet not so "traditional." BAMH has exceeded my hopes.

My daughter has been a student at BAMH for 2 year years. This school has been a blessing to our family. Our daughter was home schooled for her first 3 years and the transition to Montessori curriculum felt natural. The faculty and staff have always demonstrated patience, compassion, kindness and above all, respect , to my daughter. She comes home full of joy and excitement about her day! Since attending BAMH, my daughter has gained so much confidence and independence . At 5 years old she is reading well and writing in cursive, an art lost in public schools. She is learning how to problem solve, work in groups, critically think, and how to treat others with compassion and kindness. If you are considering an alternative to traditional school or public school, I encourage you to visit with your child to explore the uniqueness and wonder of Bay Area Montessori House.

I hope my positive comments help to remove any doubts about the professionalism and dedication of this school to their pupils. Right now, we have two kids in the Bay Area MONTESSORI House. One in Elementary, and other in adolescents (mid School). This is our 4th year at this School. This is an Association of Montessori International certified School. My family and I moved to the US from United Kingdom about 4 Years ago. My children were in a certified MONTESSORI school back in UK. In a certified MONTESSORI school, the education system allows children to work in the same environment no matter the school or even country. For us, worked like a charm! It made our lives a lot easier as it was really easy their continuation of their studies when we moved from UK. We trial three schools in Houston. The first two, have a “Montessori” word somewhere in their name, but no traces of MONTESSORI education, materials, or methodology. My children spend one full day (for free) as a trial in Bay Area Montessori House. After the day, I query to my children about the day and the school. The answer was in both kids the same, “Can we go back to that school tomorrow? Please?”… The education is based on the commitment of the school, the Student and Parents/guardians. We ALL have to do our part of the work to make it a success. I can assure, the school is doing their part. Most of the times, the pupil does too, but it is, in many cases, the home environment the one that fails. Then, it is easier to file a complaint to the school and not assuming your own home environment issues. The school have programs to have the students take responsibilities to to do their school work, caring of animals, creatures, raise chickens, caring for the environment etc. The pupils kick start micro economies to raise funds towards a school trips or other needs, They do tons of activities such visiting museums, historical or interesting places, picnics etc. These are some of their “away from Texas” trips that I know of: .-They have been to the Montessori Model United Nations in New York and defend the matters representing a country. .-They have been to an archaeological excavation in Colorado. .-They have been in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, to do studies about the tortoises. We are Grateful to this school.

Bay Area Montessori House is a wonderful school true to the principles of Montessori education. The principle of following the child is consistently followed, thus allowing every child reach their true potential. Have one child in the Elementary class, where education is carefully planned for each student and progress shared regularly with the parents. Melinda Nielsen is also available at any time you need to discuss your concerns. The Adolescent Program is a fantastic program were young adolescents are encouraged to excel. Alyssa Nielsen guides and encourages them to better their skills in all aspects of education, whether knowledge based or organizational and social. Education is complemented with unique experiences with long field trips away from home for children from 6th grade. Participation in the Montessori Model United Nation program is remarkable, a unique experience with skills and memories to last a lifetime. For this program to succeed it is really important that Montessori principles are somehow also adopted in the house, so that education is a continuum between school and family. It will be very difficult to find a better school for my children

My son has been going here since he was 2 years old. He is now 13 and only has one year left before before high school. He’s always gotten the attention he needed here to thrive and become an independent thinker. They’ve guided and pushed him when he needed it. When the evaluations are done he’s consistently testing 2-3 grades above his age group! He has ADHD and I know he wouldn’t have thrived as well anywhere else.
