A true Community of staff and families. Modeling respect for each other and all living things. Recognizing Individuality. Allowing Time. Focus. Discouraging the pacifying effect of media on children. Raising peacemakers. Fostering independence and self-determination. We didn't plan to send our kids to private school, but after experiencing the culture we were hooked. The level of training and education for parenting was wonderful. The sense of community amongst the families -likewise. Our older child is now in college, and the experiences she gained at AMS are sustaining her well. The creativity and thoughtfulness displayed by the staff during the pandemic was exceptional.

Austin Montessori has been an amazing school for our daughters (currently 8 and 5) before and during the pandemic, and I am sure will continue to impress our family. The board, head of school, and teachers consistently demonstrate that their primary concern is the welfare and development of the children. The school exhibited creativity and bravery in preparing to get children back on campus, and also in supporting families that chose to remain remote. The school staff does so much to support families, and help to build character in their students. We have been very pleased with our daughters’ reading, writing, and math skills. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking at private education for their children.

We love this school! Our daughter is 22 months and has been going for 3 months. She is well on her way to being almost completely "toilet independent" better known as potty trained. She has learned to sing songs and has started to develop a huge vocabulary. She wasn't even talking when she started. She has also become very capable in eating on her own. But the best thing I have seen, is that she has learned empathy for other children. This is just something I could not have taught her at home. She always wants to help take care of our 2 month old when he starts crying. She goes over to him, tries to pat him on the belly and says, "It's ok". Plus just yesterday when I took her to the playground in the afternoon, she tried to give another little boy a hug after he tripped while running in the wood chips.
