Armand Bayou Montessori School

Armand Bayou Montessori has been a wonderful experience for my grandchildren, one in kindergarten and one in pre-kindergarten. The nurturing environment and dedicated staff have created a love for learning in both of them. The individualized attention and hands-on learning approach have significantly contributed to their intellectual and emotional growth. I am particularly impressed with the emphasis on fostering independence and critical thinking skills at such a young age. The school community is welcoming and supportive, making it a joy to visit and see the progress my grandchildren are making. I wholeheartedly recommend Armand Bayou Montessori to any family seeking a quality, child-centered education.

There is always some activity going on. All of the children have similes on their faces and are always busy working on some form of activity. The teachers are attentive and alert to all the children in the classroom. I often see one-on-one interaction between children and the teachers. Our grandchild has really opened up since attending Armand Bayou Montessori School. She tells us every day something that she was involved with during the school day.

Both of my children have been attending Armand Bayou Montessori since they were infants, with the first starting in 2013. The staff are all excellent and extremely supportive. Class sizes are perfect to enable personalized attention from teachers, and with school and after-school childcare in the same place this has been the perfect choice for our family.

Our family has attended this school over the past 17 years. All three of our boys attended through 5th grade. We're in our last year at the school. There wasn't a lot of turnover in the beginning, and even though there are new faces now, all the teachers have been caring and kind. Our older two boys were well prepared for public middle school and we think the youngest will be too. The Montessori method has really helped them to love learning and given them skills, such as personal responsibility in their education.

My 7 year old started here 2 weeks ago and she is IN LOVE with this place compared to public school. They get plenty of outside time and it's all hands on learning. She tells me there are no bullys here, the children actually WANT to learn, and the extra activities they offer such as coding, robotics, Camp Fit, and Dance have her so happy. She actually has a book in her hands without me asking her to for the first time in her life. So far, so amazing for my incredibly active child! 👏

Exact Conversation. Keep in mind I called three times 50 minutes apart. Me: "Is an administrator available?" Woman: "No, can I get a call back number." Me: "I'm sorry I'm calling from overseas." Woman: "Then don't call back. We're very busy." *Hangs up* Yes, please, tell me how busy you are. The reason I'm calling from overseas is because I'm deployed and work 74 hours a week. Please tell me how busy you are so I can never call back about arranging care for my child, who I haven't seen in 15 months, when I PCS there is three months. I'm very curious to hear how busy you are.

We are halfway through our second year at the school (Kindergarten this year, pre-k last year). This school is amazing. We are so pleased with our son's academic progress and emotional development. The teachers are excellent people and highly skilled professionals. Because of his experience at Armand Bayou, our son loves to go to school, embraces hard work, cares about others, and has learned to be kind to himself and to others. Went there as a kid, really glad I went. Had nice staff, a little strict but it was good for me, and had a cool fun bus that came every week.
