Discover Montessori

I have 3 children that attend this school. It is a family atmosphere and the teachers really care.The students leave with great character, a sense of community and integrity.

We had a really good experience with Discover Montessori. They are really generous people. Their methods and educational tools have been good. They were very accommodating and thorough in their operation.

@ Miche Syce; programs are guidelines and not a death sentence, therefore each child is nurtured according to his/her character. I understand as a parent you only want what is best for your child, but as an adult you extremely dramatic. U could have added a few pictures to enlighten us and support your allegations. Yolanda and her team are passionate, competent and always willing to go above and beyond. Entering Discover Montessori you are immediately captured by the pleasant atmosphere that assures you that your child will not only be educated but loved. Ps: If it was about the money , you should have followed procedure.

It is now the 3rd year that I will be dancing with the Learners at Discover Montessori. The children are encouraged to explore and develop at their own pace, in a disciplined and caring environment and through a variety of activities among other, dancing, get the opportunity to express themselves, whilst learning various cognitive as well as social skills. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the Discover Montessori experience.

The name itself describes the experience we as a family have had since our kids enrolled in the school. My kids have learnt to discover and explore life through objects and play time. The awesome aspect of been part of the discover family, is the regular personal updates and progress of your child. My kids have learnt so much in the time there, from writing their names, to counting, to planets, to our continent, to respecting objects and so the list goes on. When an issue arises there approach is one of respect and un bias and are always willing to try and solve the issue with open and frank discussions. They would always provide possible solutions and alternatives to get the best results out of my kids. Would I choose this Montessori again? Absolutely without a doubt, the personal attention and progress of my kids wouldn’t have been achieved had I gone with an ‘ordinary creche’

#BAD. Note this was posted long before the hearing. People see reviews below, so suddenly after she responded to my review. That says alot, maybe its friends and family. What you sow so shall you reap. You played us. Please tell the truth for once. We went to court to get a refund for the months paid in advanced, 3 month exact, R8100 . I lost the case based on the agreement of notice given. Thus I could not get a refund. the court did not rule out the matter on which my son was treated nor slander. What I spoke is what I saw and addressed with you and you never denied it once in court. My son has been there for 10 months and nothing was adhered to. Below are issues we addressed with he Head mistress and the assistants .NO HONESTY FROM THIS SCHOOL. Don't let photos and a visit to the school fool you. What you pay for is what you get they no cheap for nothing. NO reply on emails, WhatsApp nor phone calls. I would not recommend at all. My experience with the school. You pay for a full day but our child recieved half. Discover Montessori Prospectus 2018: below agreement sent to us and that which was not adhered to. Daily Programme: 07:30 – 08:15 Breakfast. • There was a time that my child did not eat his breakfast for 2-3 weeks and this was not communicated to us. My child went without food in the morning(hungry ) up until we asked about his eating. 13:30 – 14:45 Nap Time. • my child and others slept most days up until between 15:30 – 15:45. from 13:30. I have seen this with my own eyes as i usually get to the school early. After various discussions we had advising you that it is not good for for my child that long as he goes sleep at between 10:00pm -11pm. The head mistress have advised that you’ll allow him to sleep for half an hour only but most days when he was picked up he only wakes up at 15:30 – 15:45 when we arrive and up until this point you never commented on this. The head mistress fooled me, the more I told her that the staff is making the kids sleep so long the more she said she will address it, but in the mean time she knew all along. 15:00 -16:00 you paying for this but they do not do it at all because they clearly sleeping. Story Time, Music, Work Cycle, Play • Since I been there not once have I witnessed the kids every been told a story, listen to music or done work cycle at this time. The only thing I noticed was free play from on the days when I arrive at 4pm. Most of the days when we arrive morning and afternoons (7:00am- 8:00am) and (3:30pm- 4:00pm) it is only the assistants present and not the head mistress. 16:15-17:00 Outside supervised free play. • I have witnessed this every day from approximately 15:45- 4:00 and not from 16:15 – 17:00 Educational Support: Parents are given regular feedback, verbally. • This was never the case until recently after we had a meeting with the head mistress beginning of July 2018. Dress code: There were many days in summer when i dressed my child warm in the morning and not once has he ever been changed, you would leave him in that hot tracksuit we sent him with in the morning. Children hurting one another(and Themselves): There were instances when my child got hurt at school and came home with blue marks and deep scratches including his face which we addressed with you and your assistant, but it never seemed to get better. At one instance the head mistress child scratched my son in his face and no once said anything until I addressed it with Veronica. Another is when my child fell off from some pole and nothing was mentioned. We were always told when my child fights with other kids. The head mistress words. (what might be big to you, might be small to me) Expectations of staff Whenever they felt like greeting they would. some assistants had an ugly attitude towards my wife, just because she complained about them. Another incident in when I got there at around 15:45 and I heard my son and telling the head mistress that her son was fighting with him, instead the assistant walked up to me and rather told me that my son had a bad day today.

My experience about Discover Montessori has been one hell of a journey with my daughter. At the school she learnt so many independent life skills and has taught us a thing or two at home. She now reads independently. She wants to cook all the time and she even wants to dress the entire house due to her being over confident. When she now does something because of the values taught at the school she does it with perfection and excellence. Thank you Discover Montessori Team

Montessori Discovery is a school that I would recommend to any parent. It is safe, clean and education. There is a full programme that stimulates growth and helps your child reach their developmental milestones. My experience was nothing but warm and welcoming. The principal and her staff are very professional and are devoted to their profession.

I recently advised a family member to have her son enrolled at Discover Montessori. The attention they pay to each child's education and development is really amazing to say the least. My cousin had nothing but good reviews with regards to the difference she saw in her son since he enrolled. Each child is different and learns at a different pace to the next child, she had some challenges with her son in public school ( no knock on our government based institutions ), but there has been a drastic improvement since. The staff is professional, polite, friendly and most important the interaction with kids is exactly what is need to groom our future leaders.
