Unethical and Unprofessional – A Warning to Parents Our experience with this crèche was deeply upsetting and unprofessional. When we politely raised concerns about their management practices in regard to discussing children's behaviours in front of other parents, a blatant breach of ethics and privacy, we were met with hostility, dismissed, and treated with outright disrespect. The owner (Bernie) response contained inappropriate and unprofessional language. When we decided to withdraw our son due to their poor behaviour management, they attempted to charge us two months’ fees—despite having a two-year waiting list and keeping our deposit! This clearly reflects their abusive contract terms and their ethos: prioritizing profits over the well-being of children. This crèche seems to exploit the childcare shortage, operating under the assumption that parents have no other options. To make matters worse, we received harassing calls from someone claiming to represent Bernie (the owner). We recorded these calls and reported them to both Garda and Tusla. Advice for Parents: Before enrolling your child here, speak to neighbours and other parents in the community. You’ll likely hear horror stories similar to ours—stories the owner actively tries to suppress. Protect your child and family from this toxic, abusive environment.

owner Bernie is incredibly quick to anger and aggressive, which isn’t conducive to caring for children. There is no self preservation and isn’t above shouting at people in the street making a show of herself, and the business let’s face it. Has been asked countless times to remove the crèche wheelie bin from the pathway entrance which is thin, often resulting in prams and wheelchairs having to go out onto the road to get around it, and if you’re in a wheelchair you would not be able to get back up on the pavement at all, despite numerous complaints from residents, and management to put the bins in a more appropriate location it still gets left there from sun up to sun down

We attended Queen B’s Royal Canal Ashtown. The staff have been fantastic with our daughter and have really looked out for her best interests. Interestingly we have had the same staff from week 1 which contrasts with a lot of staff turnover in other crèches and I think the continuity of staff has benefited our daughter hugely. I cannot recommend this crèche highly enough.

Our child started here at 10 months old when it first opened & is finishing up after 3+ years next week. It was her home away from home and the amazing staff have played such a huge part in raising her, teaching her, encouraging her, having fun with her and minding her so well. She loved every single day, thanks Queen B’s!

My son was in Queen B’s since it opened and started in the baby room and stayed for nearly 4 years. I could not fault the staff or the service at all. Really couldn’t have picked a better place for him to be cared for. He thrived, was cared for brilliantly and had such a good time being here. Bernie and Margaret and every teacher are so friendly and professional and so good to deal with, I never had one issue or complaint with anything. All information was provided about the curriculum that was being followed at each stage and we loved the news letter updates of all the activities. Honestly couldn’t rate Queen B’s highly enough and I would recommend it to anyone. Really wish afterschool care was available now he has moved on so he could stay in this wonderful environment for longer.

After reading the below review I was in shock as my two children attend Discovery Queen B's creche for the last 2 years and I have had no issues with staff, Bernie or Margaret. Our children are very happy going to creche each day as the staff welcome them with open arms each morning and go above and beyond to make my children feel happy and secure when in creche while both of us are working. Both the staff and Bernie herself have exceeded all our expectations and we would not want our children in any other setting.

In 2020, My ECCE deposit was kept by the owner until I reported this to the early childcare body. I was also told I had to send my daughter to a paid summer camp to hold her place, also in violation of ecce rules. My daughter had a temperature spike in queen bees and vomitted and I was given out to on collection for the mess she made. They didn't give her the Calpol I had to put in her bag for incidents like this and had no idea what her temperature was when I asked. All reported to Tusla. Encourage everyone to read Tusla reports on this place. Very intimidating. My daughter lost her place, with no notice, because I spoke up about these violations. As you can see the response from the business below is in violation of GDPR (publicly providing data in relation to a minor online without permission). Reporting to data protection commissioner. Negative Reliability, Professionalism

Our youngest daughter was in Queen B's for a few months before the first lockdown, and we noticed a number of issues. The main problems came during the lockdown - some of the parents were in a WhatsApp group where it came out that Queen B's were essentially charging different, almost random, amounts to parents for childcare, hadn't been refunding deposits, charging parents for care covered by government schemes, and not paying benefits to staff. The worst part was that somehow the owner, Bernie, got wind of the fact that people were sharing this information in this group, and contacted all of the parents to tell them that the children had now lost their places in a very abusive manner. She has told people her husband would "deal" with them, used phrasing to intimidate parents into being quiet, told us we were "interfering busybodies" and worse, just for sharing public government information and exposing her lies. I would never send a child to this creche again.
